The problem isn't debt. The problem is interest on debt that is payable to a private company. The gov't can issue debt free money and not have any interest on it and allow people to use it to build the economy. That's the issue.

That's only part of the issue. The other part is exactly what all that debt created money by the government is really being used for. A lot of it seems to find its way into the pockets of elites to buy up every asset possible while the rest of us get stuck with the debt because we can't afford the stuff as individuals and as a country.

Debt is definitely apart of the issue. The problem w the debt increasing is that it gets its value from all the other dollars in circulating and being stored. Whether it's you getting a loan for a house or a gov getting a loan for a war. The loan itself is the creation on money out of thin air. So every time more 'debt is issued', the buying power/value of that debt comes from the people holding that currency. That's why inflation is often referred to as a hidden tax

Gov issuing debt (printing money) is absolutely the problem. Money printing to stimulate demand, loan easy money to masses of kids to attend college, loan easy money to businesses, etc is artificial manipulation of an economy. It always leads to irresponsible risk taking, which translates into booms and busts. Let masses of financially illiterate kids borrow easy money for college = tuition inc. Those mass of kids graduate flooding the job market = the value of a degree erodes over time. The cycle continues as kids walk into the slaughterhouse taking on absurd amounts of debt they cant repay because their over priced degree is worthless. The debt bomb explodes. What to do? Print more money or let it all fail? The same chain reaction applies to businesses, home owners, car owners, traders, etc leveraging easy money leading to irresponsible risk taking until a debt bomb forms and explodes.

i think we all see the problem with issuing more currency at will. that in a nutshell is the prob with dollars. the govt allows themselves to be re-elected by issuing more debt. if there was a permanent ban on printing money things could get better. but i'll stick with BTC until the govts destroy it or it destroys the govt. the govts will soon see it as a real threat to their cushy lives, so expect a coming firestorm involving BTC.

The crux is the interest on those loans- let the gov't issue all the debt it wants so long as it doesn't have to pay interest on it to a private corporation like the FED. Tom you miss his point. He is not saying one can change the immutable laws of physics. He is saying we can harness emergent properties to break our reach beyond our current limitations. But emergent properties require required much effort to harness to take advantage of, and even more to discover, and the discovery of often requires the regression of clarifying the fundamentals first. This would be a wrong assumption, thankfully, as we see in Michael Levin's work with nematodes and in caterpillars. This is CHANGE - which is a requirement for life to flourish and evolve - But by no means should be confused with “aging and death” FOR THE BODY AS A WHOLE, which is the gradual degradation of change for the WORSE. This is to be stopped and NEEDS to be stopped. Change is the only constant but positive change needs to be maintained, anything else is a waste of time.

yeah itss a cool one, there was a digestion panel years ago, it was explained that the bacteria in the back of our mouth covert nitrites to nitrates, and we swallow, and stomach acid converts nitrates to nitrogen-oxide, fueling our nitrogen-oxide cycle, something like that anyways. Humans will not be able to defy the Hayflick limit for decades even centuries. However with the help of these channels, and you tube algorithms I was able to crack my personal code to extend my life probably by 2 decades adjusting foods, exercise and stress management. Have to stop halfway through to contemplate the breaking the rules conversation. Depends on how we define rules. Rules of biology contain myriad other rules that behave differently and with new results. Like quantum physics includes rules that do not operate in standard physics yet are a real part of the rules of the universe. A tree has different rules than sawdust rules but sawdust can be seen as a broken set of tree rules. Consider the infinite complexity of life. When we break rules of life we may be releasing a whole new set of rules contained within the ones we thought we knew for sure.

HEALTHSPAN is absolutely the needed focus over LIFESPAN. Bill is 💯 correct. Since somewhat reliable records began, mankind has not lived past approximately 120 years old. We have no evidence yet that modern health approaches can extend life even 10% beyond this upper limit. Bill's perspective on this issue is refreshingly intelligent, the best I have heard to-date! I am looking forward to seeing how well the health industry can advance our average health over the next 2 decades.

All four of my grandparents lost their million and a half million dollar houses. Play how to do this because they had to go on Medicaid and didn't have enough money after Medicare. These were four highly independent people. Does anybody know what the lowest Medicare cost is or Medicaid? For anybody that doesn't it's not much. The government can take care of social security they always have. They're not going to let the collapse or it would already happened. Anyway that's too busy creating the military and working out corporate bailouts. I'm so tired of people that are not much money complaining. There are people that are not in the position for this for this indifference and inequality, and getting punished for it. If you earn over $500,000 a year I don't want to hear it. My parents do, that's why my grandparents were okay. How come it's their responsibility when they pay taxes from working all their life. The government is too busy with corporate bailouts and the creation of wars. My grandparents are also involved in politics, any one of them before I could have blown Biden or Trump away.

The answer to the Cryptocurrency question is to let the free market decide. Decentralized currencies are best but need a balance. So create a simple across the board 10% tax on non essential goods and a 10% tariff on all imports.This would eliminate the need for an I.R.S. and would create a massive surplus for social programs. A secure boarder would be a key factor to regulate the sustainable flow of new productive citizens supplementing the workforce and adding to the cultural diversity that enriches us all... THIS IS THE WAY....
