You know it's bad when billionaires are afraid to speak honestly and have to give these murky, bs answers. Never before have the elites been afraid to speak their truth. They fear retribution from Trump, and their money is more important than the nation.

Ray Dalio is right: whatever happens with education is going to be the real determinant for productivity of the future. If education is not supported and enhanced to better support increasing raw intelligence of the youth, everything industries try to do will be stifled by lack of raw talent and lack of good smart and energized citizenship when those youth become adults. It doesn't take a genius to understand this. The idea of a Manhattan Project should have a strong focus on education. But the incoming administration is looking to DESTROY the Education department instead of transforming it and making it more effective.

Hitler wantrd to blame the Jews because he understood that he had to have a group to blame. Vs Trump blaming hispanics on crime and why everybody is suffering. Trump is going to have concentration camps. Hitle had concentration camps. Trump talks about the poisoning of our blood. Same with hitler. Trump wants to go after political enemies. Shut down media that opposes him. Playbnok or Putin and Hitler. There are books, blogs, and discussions that cover it from a historical perspective.

We can all understand the Elon idea of 24/7 work schedule and its advantages to pushing a project forward. This schedule fits for some categories of work, but is destructive for others, and not workable at all if universally applied to all projects. Sorting that all out is the point, not putting up the notion that all corporate projects should on could be 24/7 type efforts.

Who cares about the number of babies born. These two Are Way too intense about a “problem” that has no bearing on either one of them or the future for that matter. In addition, increasingly, guys don’t want to be with girls… they like relations with guys. No drama, no risk of pregnancy, two incomes, comfortable lifestyle and way better sex.

When AI puts up very good blogs/KZbin sites, ones that look close to what individual bloggers look like and sound like, I would expect these same people clamoring for less regulation will be clamoring for more regulation to protect them from AI near look-alikes, etc. However, regulations can be good and they can be bad, depends on the particular cases. For sure, perplexing and expensive to comply or even to know what regulations apply can cause innovators to shy-away from innovating in areas with such regulation. The excuse for such regulatory problems that "that is just the cost of doing business is not dealing with the problem. Maybe AI will eventually be very helpful with steering innovators through regulatory perplexity and the burden of compliance, especially reporting requirements.

Tom, I love your channel and your due diligence is second to none. I would like to challenge you on the Fluoridation of tap water and toothpastes. You fail to mention a lot of contextual facts that exist in this realm. If you took a minute to understand the molecular changes that occur with the PROPER amount of Flouride in the water and public health changes that have. occurred over time, your tune would be vastly different. Fluoride incorporated into developing tooth structure has an order of magnitude of greater resilience to tooth decay and erosion. CalciumHydroxiapetite vs fluorhydroxiapetite as a molecular form in dental tissues is a game changer. Now, instead of making the fluoride the boogeyman, let’s discuss the change in diet over the modernization of civilization. That’s the real problem. Let’s make sure we understand that the public water source is tested for ideal fluoridation, which occurs naturally. Sometimes the F- level is too high and causes modeling and fluorosis of teeth. A negative consequence. PROPER fluoridation is essential to public health. F- used as a toothpaste is topical and replaces the dissociated F- due to the acidity of sugar consumption by very specific oral microbes. No one who properly uses F- toothpaste swallows it. Ingestion should be minimal. That’s why we tell parents of small kids to use a small amount of fluorides toothpaste and to NOT swallow it. Fluorosis is the negative outcome of this is improperly used. There is proper amount needed in water. 1 ppm of F- We should be aiming to achieve this range, not eliminating F- as the answer. It’s not all or nothing.

Lol there's such a disconnect from reality. I guess when every MSM team up and report the same IDENTICAL statements after each event, it's easy to fall for every story. It only took 2 years for them to go from "If you say it came from a lab you're an idiot, a liar, and a Russian asset", to "Oh it came from a lab, we have it under control now and it won't happen again". Not a single apology for gas lighting the whole country. I'm liberal, but FFS critical thinking is at an all time low. The only thing the US means internationally at this time is an endless bankroll and endless war. The only people who are actual fans of the current state of America are those profiting off printing money and bombing people enough create another group of terrorists.

If Trump does tarrifs on everything. Most of our produce is shipped in because there are not enough produce farmers in the US to feed the US. Also the government subsidies support only grain and corn and not produce. So if there tarrifs come in we will spending more on trying to feed our family. We won't be worried about buying lingerie. Also Trump is not nuisanced enough to address all the things that impact any issue. Case in point how he handled manufacturing vs how biden handled manufacturing.

I think the idea of less sales tax and more tariffs might make sense unless you are addressing the needs of othose of us who live on less than $1000 a month on Social Security for example. We don’t pay income taxes at all because we don’t make enough money to exceed the standard deduction however, higher prices from tariffs will be devastating in terms of buying power. I’ve never heard anyone talk about this. Would love to hear some discussion about this as well. :-)

To me, someone who has been a Sam Harris fan for some time, even a paid subscriber to his podcast, I would share that his inferences around race and dei, reveal the kinds of inaccuracies that emerge from non-experts with little to no experience working in a field. I don't know. If Sam has worked directly and or robustly in these areas, I'm just making that assumption because he repeats the same kinds of solution styming ignorance that thought leaders without direct touch on complex issues like these create for everyone else. I've worked in both areas for some time, + no one in our Fields, even those at the highest levels of academic achievement or ground research, would take either of these hosts ideas is anything other than and expected repeat of poor inference in the face of not insignificant ignorance. I'm dictating while driving so grammar here is what it is. The unique use of definition, I'm assuming by again lack of experience in the field, border is on self-servingly stipulative or ad hoc. I would say what's concerning for me and my interest in Harris as a thinker. Is that I now have to wrestle with watching dunning-kruger play out in real time and as usual, the one implicated for this cognitive bias being totally unaware of how their confidence has exponentially skyrocketed above their knowledge of a subject.

PBD is talking about the Great Financial Crisis caused by conservative deregulation policies that all came crashing down under W/Cheney. And COVID was a result of cutting funding for pandemic prevention, which lead to a crash, then stimulus which caused hyperinflation. Is he saying the policies that led to these crashes are a good thing? Also I am middle class and i don't know a single person that thinks QE was useful for anything other than slowly recovering from the Great Financial Crisis. Fed Interest rates should be able to hover around 5% in healthy economy. Anything lower is limping.

Why you insist in making the competition the “ necessary enemies “ of a proposed conflict. Because you need honesty and say it. Russia and China are competitors as supposedly capitalism needs to thrive. But the narrative is a warmongering need to satisfy the need to crush the competition. Favoring the cold war era powers that made war an indispensable economic solution to boost accumulatiion of capital only made destroying to rebuild a drug for the corporate class. Explaining a future crash of the system is not accounting . It requires honest transitional mentality out of this obsolete system.

~59 min. Interesting how the discussion diverges. Ray basically says that education is a bit like the hierarchy of needs, if you don't have the foundational basics forget about the rest. You can't evaluate a teacher's skills if kids do not have basic resources like pens and lunch. If your class can't afford breakfast or lunch you won't hit the KPIs. Maybe you should fire some teachers but that is a distraction from the big issue of basic resources. Maybe this distraction is actually the point for some people because they don't really want to spend money on other people's kids. My kids go to a public school and have a great experience so far. Every kid in the class comes from a very comfortable background, and I fully believe the class greatly impacts what the teacher can teach.

Ooh, the language :( I'm trying here, but the cursing, please. You wouldn't be any less 'cool' or whatever you want to call it....with less cursing. There is no difference between what Margaret Sanger said and who worked with Grandpa Gates in the 1920s population control, 1930s with mthfr and folic acid, etc.....the tech just "advanced." It's a whole different kind of war, people. Same war, different tactics.
