This devotion reminds me of my dear friend, Kay Gilbert. I often sat beside her at ladies prayer meeting. I listened. Couldn’t help it. Her prayer was continually for “others.” She “poured” herself into people. It came as no surprise that over 2,000 signatures were on the register at her celebration of life. She emptied her alabaster box - happily, joyfully…on others.

So I was thinking tonite I have a neighbor who have parted in their marriage after 15 yrs She is very prayerful and someone counselled her to cut the dad out totally when he's a step up to the plate dad totally I told her not think smart Just seek for your son to be whole. And it reminded me tonite I prayed alot at 4 a m prayer mtgs One time God quickened me to pray for a name specifically I did not know so I did pray for her I was a new rug rat and pressed into intercession Found out months later she was a preachers wife in a coma and with small children But she was better She came to our church to teach about bus ministry She was super fervent a go getter and she taught about the whole person how God uses the diff things prayer fasting etc etc to make us a whole person It stuck with me soo that's all

I had a kid I grew up with and he was the lil bro in a fireman family My mom's best buddy o he was a lil on the retardation side but we were a gang of Kidz and he was just one of the bunch When I got saved one morning outa the blue I was praying for him not seen him in years His dad was real abusive the Dr said if he was treated right by his dad he'd be going better direction but if not good by his dad more damaged It went South His dad passed off a died brutally in a logging mishap and This young man ended up on the streets I just told God he could help this kid When I went downtown he walked right up to me and sought me and I just jumped him with joy For awhile reached out to him O e nite someone chained him and his dog inside a tanker and lit it on fire and they burnt up Real nice There was a memorial for him hundreds of people he had reached out to Amazing Grace
