I totally relate, I am the same person all of my life. Unfortunately I was raised by a nihilistic father happy and intent on gifting me his views and ideas since I was very small. Also, unfortunately, my equally brilliantl mother stayed silent on all such topics. I did not begin to see differently until my mid 20s. They both had their own stories and reasons for their positions. I love them and forgive them. This talk is brilliant and I wish I had heard it when I was a teen. But you, sweet sir, were not even born. I will save and disseminate this talk as much as I can. Life is beautiful. Giving is so satisfying. The other side of my father was his insistance that I think for myself and decide for myself what I thought about so many things, again from a young age. God bless both of my parents for they took the time and attention to make me feel like I was a person, not just a kid. My older sister and I were just as important members of our family as our parents. We were all valued. As a matter of fact, when my sister came home from school wanting to attend church Sunday school like her peers, my mother was kind of horrified because church had not felt like a positive part of her childhood. My father told her the funniest yet wisest suggestion, "Take her to the Unitarian church, they will do the least damage." And he was right! Thee UU faith is a set of values/principles. It is about valuing humanity and free thought. There is no dogma, a member is not required to believe in the existance of God. We began attending when I was 4. and I am still attending via zoom today. But I am also connected to other faith traditions. It's a way to experience the love of God in different settings and perspectives. Although I must admit that I never knew what people meant when they reffered to God and the entire concept of a prayer is still a little fuzzy. Now God was with me and mydearest companion throughout children and forward, I just didn't understand the termenology for describing that relationship. And I think it is quite interesting that I also had zero expectations about God and my relationship to God. I didn't believe in God so there were none of my own limitations in the way of God's direction or inspiration in my life. So I wonder how many athiests actually live a more spiritually informed life because of their athiesm. Where do these scientific innovative ideas come from? So often it is a momentary flash where everything falls into place. Or Benzene dreams of a snake beginning to swallow its tail and we have the Benzene ring. Or the scientist is alone in the lab in quiet contemplation and an idea comes. Inspiration, breathe in spirit, inspiration from a divine source. Now nihilists who believe their inspiration is the result of random chemical interactions, that randomly created life, and they worship their brains, are missing out on a more connected experience. But life is so many things to so many different people. Thank you.

@@advaita6523 personally speaking, I have no admiration for Aacharaya Prashant. His answers, attitude and language all are worst. He himself seems frustrated of life and many a times I felt that he needs guidance from a capable guru or something but that won't be possible because he is somewhat Narcissistic. Many of us feel natural connection with Abhijit Sir while Acharya Prahant seems to be living in his own world ( and highly hopeless & frustrated). Look at the charm of Abhijit Sir, Acharya Prashant doesn't come closer. On contrary I have listened to many lectures of Osho as well. Osho said, life has no purpose, life itself is purpose. Those who follow and listen to Osho you think he will agree with the answers of Acharya Prashant? No, Never. One thing Acharya Prashant is really good at is Marketing and gaining trust of not so sharp minds. LOL in almost all of his videos he bashes on practice of meditation, meanwhile shows admiration towards Osho, seriously?? I mean even Buslims don't have that much hatred with meditation. In simple words he is confused but he is confident that he has no confusion and he is preaching his confusion as belief. He thinks he is so much talented that none of the exisitng work in the world is meant for him so he started to give lectures out of boredom. Can anyone ask him, why he is having so many degrees? A person who has clear goal & purpose won't be after so many degrees and qualifications. He himself is still searching for the meaning of life, he could't find and so finally settled to start lecturing others while still maintaining the attitude of a bureaucratic IAS officer.Just look at how he takes questions from his followers, instead of answering he starts attacking. One thing you notice he always starts with disagreement with everything is being asked to him. Sorry friend, don't suggets Acharya Prshant to me. I have my trust on ABHIJIT SIR. I just hope you are not one of his marketing bots.

@@meenakshi_iyer you are feeling like this becuz you aren't busy in utilizing your actual potential, that's it. Your energy is accumulated but not being spent on things that your heart really considers worthy of your full attention. Again videos like these are drugs to people like us, temporary fullfilment. Anyway doesn't matter what you choose to do in your life at the end life becomes all about passing your time. In short we're all meant to just pass time whether we are beggar or District collector in this material world. Even if lets say you start enjoying your life again you take rebirth and enjoy time, again you take rebirth, you're fulfilled and enjoy your time, but what's the point of this never ending circle. While in reality you are not just served with time, we are served with bad times as well🤣🥲. Honestly if your having the time to think of your time like this then believe me you're in a great time, things outside are way worse. But looking at worse things and justfying the current comfort should never be the point of life. So what's the point of life, relationships? All current relationship status goes to trash once you die and take rebirth again doing nothing but starting and struggling to achieve things and come to the same point of life when we again ask ourselves, what's the point of life? Someone said point of life is to know about our true selves and god. Is this path really practically possible for everyone? Only naive will say yes. It's not that simple and what if we don't like that either? Life is not all about our choices. Then whose choice? If you ask someone, do you know the limit of your happiness, he/she might find it absurd? The most extreme form of happiness is we might feel blissful, ecstatic and maybe highly sexually pleased. But ask some one what's the limit of pain? He will look up to the skies or he will imagine a limitless trench. There is always a possibily of way more worse suffering and you fear that so much that you start justifying your current situation as good one and get lectured by your own mind to show gratitude. I'm not saying we shouldn't be grateful. I'm saying gratefulness should come out of blissfulness and not fear. In short life is about "spending your time doing things that you like doing and being around people among which you share your vibe", should be the way of life not the highest purpose of life. But the sense having highest purpose in life comes into effect when you reach former stage your life. Challenges will come forth, but you already have the expericne of life to tackle and movie ahead. I'm sorry, I'm not suggesting all these things to you, maybe I'm discussing these with myself, you are just a mean to me extracout out my thougts in a note form a putting it somwhere I can read again once again atleast. Still I have not come to any conclusion, What if even I make a conclusion someday, it'd be worthless If I don't act. sometimes I ask myseleves why do we make excuses why don't we simply do things that we're supposed to do, are we suppoesed to do only medittaion and achive the ultimate goal of life other wise we will be forced to live like this by the law of nature? What do we want in life? What is meaningfulness? and if something is even meaningful, it might be meaningful to someone but not us or may be us but not anyone else. Many a times people get confused between what is life and what to do in life? Whenever asked what is life? they get answered what to do and how to do in life? seems like life is all about just making choices & doing. Ha Ha Ha 😂😂choices, choices that gets imposed upon us under the narrative that it's our own choice. But again that is also right if we don't practice to make choices which are actuall pseudo choices, we'd never learn in life how to make a real choice one day. Looks like if I keep going this then I will finish a book today, fault is yours 😁, your comment triggered my relevant emotions.

If you have reached the state where this question is in you, that means you have come a long way. It doesn't mean you are depressed or what not. People may call you different names: nihilist, pessimistic etc, they may suggest help people, find happiness, be positive but these words no longer ring any bells for you. What I would say is you are about to reach bliss if you handle this well. You don't need to find happiness in the outer world as you have bliss inside you as soon as you were born. Just pursue that bliss, you don't need external stimuli. And about aims in life, as Gita said, do your duty and don't worry about the results. Your aim in life now should be working on what you are good at without attaching yourself to it, without feeling pain of hardships of failures as it doesn't hurt you anymore, its a superpower. The only reason you would want to do that and pursue those work is to be a role model for other people who are still stuck in the web of materialism. They need someone to look up to and that's you, devoid of jealousy, greed, lust etc and still working for setting an example. I would say if everyone were like you, we will have a very civil and mature society.
@yashupanwar40682 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I see people commenting on him of being pessimist, hopeless etc.. but I think either he introspects too much and keeps on contemplating abstract ideas or he modified his thoughts after reading Nietzsche. In either of the cases, he seems to be mature (just a bit confused). This is the path of self discovery and there is nothing wrong in discussing such questions. Even Gautam Buddha was in the same phase for some point of time.

I have gone through this moment.. May be my view could help the guy.. For me also, it was exactly like Mr. #Dungar Singht Chauhan said.. It is moment which you should pass on with full awareness and believe me if you truely ' KNOW ' that your life is meaning less, you will come up as a Blissfull or Happy person,. It goes like this.. The moment you are there, believe me you are on the verge to find the purpose or some of your life. Point 1. You dont need to find the purpose, it will come to you, if following is done by you. Point 2. What you should do for that or where or How to start from a point of going nowhere or doing nothing? To answer this, what I have tried should be given a try by yourself too. As of now at this moment you understand that you are not good for anything or meaning less and by some chance you got this meaning less life in this ever expanding cosmos.. So you should just leave the thought about finding bigger picture. Start with yor immediate surroundings, not for finding the meaning of life, instead to feel that " life is meaningless anyway and it is a responsibility given to you to give SOME MEANING to your life for your own SATISFACTION till you are alive " . Anyways after you die picture ends there, but you die with either regreat, sadness, happiness, satisfied, etc. SO the it is a TASK given to you, may be with or without your will to live it. It is unsaid task on your life to prepare for your end , your death.. the moment you want to feel while taking departure from this meaningless Cosmos. I hope you go this point. Point 3. Now even if there is no meaning to you for now, with all logical application, understand that even when you will die this place, people and everything will remain here for some more time. As nothing last for ever, but the moment till it is alive, our lifes are like this, it makes meaning to us only and only till we are there. But it do give impacts and can create the waves of events that may impact who are alive after you left. History is proof of it.. Point 4. As i mentioned at point no. 2,. One need to start with his or her immediate surrounding, cosmos is not our concerns. I personally started feeding street dogs like a mad, and I still do. Now I am a Director of a Company, but never felt shy doing it. If you can not feel meaning in your life, feel compasion with what is around you and give your self any cause you feel can impact anykind of life that you can see changing by your deeds. Actually, such moments in life are very important to come. That gives you humblness, take your pride down to earth, makes you work for others or atleast to payback to all from whom you have taken emotional or physical or economical help. Education is not everything..belive me. Point 5. If you want to add up or anything new you started doing, please go ahead. Point 6. Never stop doing things which came to you mind for others in this time, thing that you have started with, or will start with. Point 7. LIFE IS ACTUALLY NOT A THING TO LOOK AT WITH LOGIC. Support of logic is limited. Look a life, your life, with EMOTIONS and COMPATION. In hindi it si called as SAMVEDNA. Have samvedna in your heart for all creatures, if not posible for all humans. You will know the impoertance of life. Point 8. Purpose of life could be one or could be everchanging. / Actions are required (which is the burden and responsibility given to you ) to manifest the cause. So act. / Believe in the Cosmic plan. You have not came here as meaning less, act in all the good way possible to get the purpose. No need to do big things. Small acts of kindness will show you the path belive me. Be greatfull ( to God or whatever you believe in) that you have logical brain, ask for more compation towards all lifes. Always look at more week, more cripled, more unprevileged. Think that you logical brain has stopped you from actions. True Love and compation can only charge you up to act. Keep giving action, purpose will come and goo. All the best Dear, I have given this writeup without listening to Abhijit Ji, so if any contraditions, please take my appologies in advance. LOKESH

To the person who has asked this question, *the meaning of life is service,* to anything, to anyone,.. If you think the worst of worst of villains don't do service then you are mistaken, even they feed their dogs some food.. This is also a service.. Who are we to distinguish Whether the service is to man or animal.. Try to serve someone or something and on that way find your place in this world..

From our infancy we have sought happiness. When we get older, we seem to realize that happiness is just an emotion and science tells us that happiness is just a drug/chemical in the brain. So seeking happiness is akin to a drug addiction and viewed as such, it seems unworthy as a reason for living. What we really desire is joy where joy is a plan that is coming or has come together. Purpose is not something that makes us feel good but is rather something that we were created to do. Purpose both assumes and requires God. Without a Creator, purpose is meaningless for nature by itself doesn't have reasons for existence. And if we do accept the idea of our Creator, then we can see that He put our need for purpose into our human nature to point us to Him. Our purpose is to accept His invitation to seek Him.

I've read dozens of books from "nihilistic" philosophers like Schopenhauer , cioran, sartre etc. And to a large extent I do agree with them. Humans lives don't really matter on the grand scale of things , we ARE cosmically insignificant. Having said that , I also do lean more towards Nietzsche's(who is commonly misunderstood as a nihilist) philosophy that yes , the unavoidable goal of all life is ultimately death but You alone can give your life meaning.

I asked the same question before covid onset, but luckily i introspected all this while and i have seen what's my worth for myself n this world. I feel one just has to go through material realm of life n stress to ultimately notice *Spirituality* , almost like it's God's ploy to steer us on the right path.

Was having the same questions as discussed : But I want you to emphasise more on how to find yourself ? and I also have the mentality that Why should I listen and accept anything because I realise behind anything you say theres a emotional point as well which might have worked for you not for others ..
