idk abt yall, but I feel like Vinh was a terrible choice for a romance option. First off, he feels more like a gay best friend than anything. He might be bi, but he just doesn’t fit the vibe with max, and when you romance amanda he gets with Reggie, so it makes the choice between love interests not even hard. Amanda seems much sweeter and I like her vibe more with Max and it seems more natural. Yes, Amanda is a little cringe but it just makes her all the more sweeter. The romance does seem a little rushed but It’s cute to play through.

According to an ex-D9 dev, he was required to be a love interest by SE mid development. Even his voice actor talked about him like he’s a suspect and not a romance. But you are right, he is. It was likely he was meant to be with Reggie all along and will not carry over to the next game.

I think that's why the developers handled the ending of the first Life is Strange in such a way that Max and Chloe split up if the latter didn't die. The first Life is Strange had two quite different endings and to develop a sequel with two different approaches and two different stories would be technically far too complex and too complicated in terms of development. That's why the game had to start at a point that both endings had previously led to. And in order for Max to have two romantic interests, she has to have broken up with Chloe beforehand, otherwise she would be cheating on her.

There was no objective reason to breaking up Max and Chloe Just give us a choice at the beginning “We're friends” or “lovers”, the first option unlocks new romances and the second blocks, but Max and Chloe are together either way. The reason for Chloe's absence is that she either went to see David, or she has a new job outside of Caledon, or she went traveling and since Max has a contract job she can't go with her. So it would be a type of long distance relationship with Chloe throughout the game, with calls and texts from her, and a final appearance at the end. See how easy it is to make two endings in one game, while keeping Max and Chloe together and respecting Bae?

Like she didn’t just go to the living timeline for that intention! I definitely agree it’s weird though that she was getting with Amanda in the living timeline when the dead timeline Amanda wasn’t ready for anything yet and she didn’t think max was either! I just don’t think it was intentional in the living timeline. After this scene, nothing else romantic happened between them except maybe cute lil comments!

Okay i have a big problem with this romance I'm very disappointed with how they handled Max and Amanda's romance. Later you'll see that Max is so desperate that when Amanda rejects her, she uses her powers to romance her in another timeline. It's so fucked up! I.e. just so you understand - D9 had Max and Chloe break up because Chloe started to fear that Max was manipulating their relationship (Although Max didn't, she stopped using her powers after the storm), and then it turns out that she's actually willing to use her powers to manipulate her relationship with Amanda? D9 what is wrong with you? Why do you make Max look so dirty? Why the fuck did you then break Max and Chloe's relationship if you then make Max do what your wrong version of Chloe was afraid of? God the writers of this game are so talentless. And please don't tell me “But Max used powers in the first game to get what she wanted!”. She didn't know then that her powers would cause a storm then. She didn't do that again after the first game, but now D9 want to tell us she didn't learn anything from the first game. What “great” character development! (It's actually degradation.) D9 and you're also telling me that Max is willing to manipulate her powers to get back the girl she recently knew, but she did nothing to get back Chloe, the most important person in her life, the one she killed men, women and children for? D9 really hate Pricefield and I'm convinced of it now

In short, they spit in the face of pricefield fans and it’s extremely disrespectful. One, I hate how max doesn’t even think of Chloe when she talks to Amanda or vinh. She doesn’t talk about their time together as friends which I would’ve loved. Two, they put more references to Chloe in ep 4 like the photo and the newspaper article about her death. D9 are just having fun with toying with our emotions, it’s like they’re manipulating us into thinking Chloe’s returning (maybe not that). I almost lost it when max could kiss Amanda. Like do you even care about Chloe or does she not exist in your head? Are you trying to forget about her? I probably would’ve been okay with the option if it was done appropriately instead of it being shoved in our face. She barely even reminisces about Chloe. Anyway that’s my thoughts, I’m very upset with our they did the m&c friendship. Just really dumb imo. Also ep 4’s ending wasn’t that good imo

Its not that max uses her powers to manipulate Amanda in anyway. Its more of the fact they leave you stuck in the living world and force you to romance Amanda. Plus technically she didn't really reject max in the dead world. But more so respected she needed time to grieve for Safi and wouldn't feel right trying to have a date with someone who still has a lot of emotional baggage plus it's not like she wouldn't date max like its obvious in both realities this would happen but different timings. D9 rushed into this one for better or worse to keep Safi alive and to keep max promise bout not letting a storm fuck with her feelings and give her two shitty endings

We need the "Not my Clementine" energy back. ANYONE that knows Max understands that she would respect boundaries, and if anyone understood those boundaries being cross it's HER. The idea that they'd make it so that she would hook up with a version of Amanda after the previous one had turned her down due to caring about her mental health just feels extremely un-Max like. It leaves an icky feeling and leaves you wondering why that had to be included when it is so against anything Max as a character would do. Just like it'd be out of character for Chloe to ask Max if she'd just keep rewinding or using her powers until she got a "Yes" from her... it's even MORE out of character for Max to actually do that..AND it be presented as a romance... When Amanda rejects her, she uses her powers to romance her in another timeline. That is VERY VERY messed up.... so even when they created the "perfect anti-Chloe" that they intentionally made basically to be the "for Max" character to make people 'forget' Chloe, the one "everyone likes" the one they make Max fawn over and sat tons of stuff Max would never say to try to sell the idea that she is 'perfect' for her, not with actual storytelling, just throwing them at each other and saying 'just because' ... they STILL... make the get together messy in ways Max would never do, and boundaries she'd never EVER cross. I can't support this game, this whole game in the most pivotal choices and decisions feels like "Not my Clementine" but for Life is Strange.

There was a calm confidence in his walk as he crossed the room and sat beside her, close enough for her to feel his warmth. “Just feels like someone has to be, you know?” she said quietly, unable to hide the exhaustion in her voice. “I don’t want to lose anyone else.” Louis looked at her for a long moment before placing a hand over hers, his touch both steady and comforting. “You’re not alone in this.
