The Doe appears during Max Caulfield's vision of the Storm of October 11, 2013 in the first episode of Life Is Strange, "Chrysalis". The doe is believed to be a personification of Rachel Amber's soul.

Max was able to go back in time and save william I was thinking about her calling the police and tell them about Mark Jefferson's bunker and him trying to build it before killing Rachel or Chloe

I think (I think) she never was supposed to save Rachel or Chloe, they were meant to die, that's why the universe sent the tornado to Arcadia bay. It was either Max leaves the events of their timeline alone or their home is destroyed. Im sure Rachel has some sort of power, and since the blue butterfly is linked to her I think she gave Max her rewind powers in the beginning in the bathroom, to expose Jefferson and Nathan. But that was never supposed to happen, her body's location was meant to stay unknown and Chloe to die by Nathan's hand in the bathroom. Alt idea I have is that the storm really is Rachel because, as we know, she's easily angered. Especially when things don't go her way. So the storm could've just been her way of saying "god fucking damn it i cant believe I died take this shithole"

@@shwuuh well yeah that was the whole point, but it was like a huge trade off if arcadia bay was destroyed chloe could live, so vice versa. I like your theory of the storm though it could've been a manifestation of her anger, the way I see it chloe and Rachel were dealt a shit hand while everyone else seemed to be happy, then chloe couldn't even have a happy ending she was killed in a toilet, and reachel burried in a junkyard long before this, their lives ended abruptly, they didnt get to learn or love or live and experience full life. plus there were some survivors at the end of the storm (evidence of this also in 2) so I think the ending where the town is destroyed is the happy ending, because atleast our main character chloe can finally go on to live her life and run away as they always wanted. also the fire on the hill in the prequel was most likely symbolic of this, rachels anger started the fire, so I'd say the storm being a manifestation of that anger isn't really that farfetched an idea

I think the limits of her power was that she had to be present during the events and she was still in Miami or wherever. And Rachel was already dead. Like for example the only reason she could go back to the day Chloe’s dad died was because she entered a portrait and she was in the photo

The junkyard doe is glitched on the remake. Doe is glitched with two slightly transparent images glitching apart from each other. Very annoying, so much for a remastered version, it’s worse than the original in places 😫 - I’m playing on Xbox Series X

"Doe"sn't make sense. ;p If the doe was Rachel, why show herself to Max and not Chloe? And say Rachel is a doe spirit now, who was the butterfly? Are spirit animals human passed on? Besides, Rachel has nothing in common with a doe - where as Max 'doe's. ;D My theory is Rachel's the storm, wild and beautiful, and after Chloe - to "Free" her - either by taking her back or destroying Arcadia Bay.

The butterfly is most likely Chloe's spirit animal, it is definitely related to the time rewind ability, so she was able to appear slightly before she dies. I think that the reason Rachel's spirit animal is doe is only because she is showing herself to Max.
