The remaster looks good (at times) but unless they actually updated it to look like their more recent games rather than a slightly retextured version, I like the strange charm of the older game’s version, bugs, glitchy fingers, and all.

he most shocking one for me is in the last episode when you go through every important places, in jefferson’s classroom the picture have changed, the models on the cover magazines took by jefferson have been replaced by max and the worst one is the picture of the forest on which you could see Chloe and Max digging and finding Rachel’s corpse

Most of the remaster wasn't worth it, but a few scenes they really did make a difference on. Chloe's request in the alternate timeline shows far more emotion in their faces, especially if Max accepts Chloe's request. Same for the final scene at the lighthouse.

I personally loved True Colors and there are a lot of things we simply don't know regarding the background politics between Dontnod and Deck Nine, and also Deck Nine and Square Enix. If anything this blunder is more likely to be the fault of Square Enix for pushing for a rushed remaster as an easy cash grab.

I have a theory that she isn't actually rewinding time, just moving to an alternate dimension whenever she perceives herself reversing time, so basically she is moving consciousness into another body in a different place in space-time. That's why nobody notices her teleporting or suddenly appearing out of nowhere.

I agree abobut the remaster comments! Also, I really dislike how they kinda changed Max's facial features. In the remaster, her eyes look bigger and rounder and her face is rounder too - the "original" Max had a longer face and somewhat "emotionless" eyes that were very characteristic in my opinion. I feel like her look before was more unique.

The remasters pros dont outweigh the cons imo so im disappointed overall, and the selling point of $40 doesnt help it either when you can simply get the original version practically free. Its like they touched up on the textures, the (worse) lighting and messed with Max's face, slapped a $40 price tag and called it a day. Lip syncing has been improved sure but not as good as it should be, thats literally the only thing that makes it better than the original..

Here are some more details I noticed(I have put the similar comment over another LIS video and sharing it here): 1. The butterfly spirit of Chloe also implies the Butterfly Effect - the small choices we make impacts our lives. Here, it refers to how Max's choices with the rewind power can affect the Arcadia Bay and the people around her. 2. Throughout the episode 1, Max is wearing a Jane tshirt with a doe pic, a shoutout to Rachel. In fact, in almost all episodes Max's clothing is related with the game. Also, 'Jane Doe' is the female equivalent of John Doe and is used to refer an unidentified person in criminal cases, like missing persons case. 3. Chloe's room has a line 'I Can't Sleep'. Also, the height meter that Chloe and Max used to measure their heights was striked-out with a 'Dad's No More'. Both of these implies how Chloe was affected after her dad's accident. If you check the bathroom, you will find fluoxetine tablets that are mostly used to treat depression and the blue hair dye. 4. In the game, you will notice at many places the line 'Hole to Another Universe'. Its seems to be the foreshadowing of parallel universe from Double Exposure. 5. Rachel Amber's name is also a reference to Amber alert. In 1996, a girl called Amber was kidnapped and murdered. After the incident, child abduction cases used an emergency alert system called Amber Alert to find the kids. Another victim of such child murder is Rachael Runyan. 6. In Joyce's room, there's a book about surviving a apocalypse - a foreshadowing of the tornado in Arcadia Bay. And the diner she works is called 'Two Whales' and whales were found dead on the seashore in the upcoming episodes. 7. David's garage has food stocked up. As if he already knew about the upcoming tornado. 8. Not sure if anyone else noticed, in episode 2 of LIS, after finding Kate's book, Max wears the Doe pic shirt. But in LIS remastered, Max wears the Jane Doe shirt then meets Kate and gives her the book. Once she is out of the school, she could be seen wearing the Doe pic shirt(no she doesn't dress up after meeting Kate). Creepy. 9. If you 'Read' the sticky notes, one sticky note message is not present. It is the 'Giant Giant Frog'. When you meet Dana, she wears a frog or toad. If you have read Harry Potter, you would know that Trevor was Neville's toad. Dana's shirt was a representation that she was dating Trevor. 10. In Kate's room, check the Bible and you would see a highlighted text - Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. A foreshadowing of Kate's fate. 11. The booth where Max dines has a graffiti probably by Warren. Its kinda an equation along with the following text - I found a marvelous demonstration of the proposition... 12. You can spot an Einstein pic in the science lab. 13. In ep 2, Alyssa is looking through the window towards the roof before the class starts. As if she knew, something's gonna happen to Kate.

I’ve played this game more times than I can count and still didn’t know about some of these details. This is an excellently edited video! Really sad about the remasters’ overall quality (or, well… lack thereof), though. Seems like Square Enix didn’t give them enough time to actually finish the game and instead rushed it out the door. Hopefully some day it’ll be as polished as the originals, but until then, at least the originals are still available for people to buy. I do really hope Max and Chloe get a proper sequel someday, though-ideally one that launches when it’s actually ready. I think there’s a lot of interesting places their story could go in the future. That, and I just love them with all my heart and want to see them again someday.

With patches it seems to be getting bigger and that can be said for both the remaster (LIS) and True Colors. I would hate for everything to be the same, such as the menu and I like the remaster menu. not sure if these are mentioned in the video, but here are some i found: Spoilers ahead, obviously. (please note that these are taken from the original 2015 version of the game, and might for whatever reason not be present in the remaster. 1: Chloe has a necklace with three bullets. she can be shot in three different scenarios. 1, in the bathroom during the beginning of the game (and the end of the game too...) 2, in the junkyard during the bottle game. 3, at the end of episode 4 when she gets shot by Jefferson. 2: During the classroom right before the end of Episode 2, you can vaguely see Kate walking on the roof in the distance, outside the window. 3: During the backwards scene in the nightmare sequence of Episode 5, if you rewind, you can hear samuel speak normally as you rewind, saying "I need to stop living like this..." 4: If you remain nice to Victoria throughout the game (for example, not making fun of her in Episode 1) it will be much easier to make her believe your warnings at the vortex party.

the remaster honestly has better expressions and some scenes hit harder because of it, but idk. the original was janky, but it worked because it had a different art direction. the stiffness of the animation is okay, dare i say good even, because it's painterly and grungy and not trying to be realistic. the remaster kinda just slaps on the aesthetics of the new games without improving anything else and it's jarring to see sometimes

Timeless game a true classic like L4D or mass effect its just a classic with characters how they should be made aka not over sexualized a great story relatable characters its just a great game ill always come back to it when i need a smile or something also reminds me of how good games and how different people was back then to bad the remaster forgot some of the great details like alot of modern games ugh it sucks to much

That's a good thought, but it probably didn't help much since it wasn't too important during a more important question about Kate. Maybe it's also because Max probably knows how the principal might not buy her story
