I am absolutely blown away by your staging and subtle visual metaphors! I especially love the shot of Zelda-as she stands in the water pleading to the goddesses for her powers to unlock-with the broken moon behind her. It’s such a powerful shot! The very last shot was amazing as well and that sudden turn was wonderfully animated. I also love how Link reaches up to touch his throat as withered flowers surround him, showing his selective muteness and all the pressure that’s been placed upon him (and Zelda)! Just! Give these kids a hug.

thank you so much!! in the initial storyboards, the shot of zelda was going to have her surrounded by silhouettes of past zeldas, to mirror the first shot of all the past links holding the master sword- I ended up scrapping it because 1) it was really hard to get the silhouettes looking distinctive (zeldas have more design variation than links, but they still tend to be Girl With Long Hair In a Dress) and 2) in botw, i felt like she was not so much living up to past zeldas as she was living up to the goddess. AAH i'm glad you pointed out the withered flowers!! the silent princesses in game are a rather unsubtle metaphor for zelda but i think a lot of people don't catch that theyre supposed to represent link too. at least i think they are! it's right there in the name, silent for link and princess for zelda

I really love the imagery you used here!! Especially that shot at the start with all of the previous iterations of Link standing over the master sword before the hero of the wild and all the shots with Zelda and Link masked into the triforce, it's really cool :). The characters in BOTW all like, centering around this theme of taking on a destiny you weren't prepared for is super cool to me I think it's a natural progression of this very prophecy heavy series if that makes sense. I really want to make an AMV focusing on Link reluctantly taking on his role as hero, because this Link really feels like one who never wanted the spotlight

WOW be warned, I am going to ramble. I love this so much! It starts with a sequence of all the Links who used the Master Sword: SS, OoT, MM, TP, WW, then I assume the BOTW pre-game Link. The level of detail where I can differentiate everyone with only lineart is amazing. I love current Link's long hair. The next scene has Zelda praying at one of the three springs (I'm guessing the Spring of Wisdom). I love the reflection of the Goddess Hylia statue in the water! I love how you show Zelda's fascination with the Guardians. The fade from Link looking at the castle to the Master Sword has the scenic view of one of the memory photos. The comparison shot of Zelda and Link flowing past each other is so pretty. I'm a sucker for flower symbolism, so I love the imagery of the wilted silent princess over the scenes of Zelda trying to connect with the Goddess and Link doing...some internal conflict (possibly touching his throat as a reference to his mutism?) Then during the high intensity of them fleeing there's the blooming silent princess for Zelda being able to use her powers (love the triforce pupils). The symbolism is so cool with the flower dead from blight (both the normal and goopy ganon variety) over Link dying, and the fresh, reborn flower over Link waking up. Link having all of those scars makes a lot of sense for the "recovered but not completely reborn" mechanic, and is also awesome visually.

This is a creative gem, and well up in the running for my very favorite Zelda animation. The sense of rhythm and motion is SO much fun, but beyond that, it’s immersive and reflective. It’s like you’ve created your own world that expands beyond every frame. What a vibrant, expressive vision! Needless to say, during the SESAC ordeal, this was the video I missed the most. everyone’s talking about how they feel bad for zelda but not about the amount of pure bullshit link had to go through. since he was like 8 he was trained to be a knight, and when he was discovered to be the wielder of the master sword he had an immense amount of pressure placed on him to succeed in defeating ganondorf’s precum aka calamity ganon and be looked up to by everyone, so much so that it became too much for him to even speak and reveal the amount of pressure that he was under. he then fucking DIED after sustaining 20 guardian shots (that he had to take down by himself) and then he was revived 100 years later for the sole purpose of doing it all over again with all his friends being dead and him not remembering shit. after he got done with all that bullshit he found a 100k year old mummy on a spooky cave trip with zelda which proceeded to reset all of his progress, knock him unconscious for 2 weeks, and then start Calamity 2: Electric Boogaloo. he then was forced to repeat the entirety of botw AGAIN except THIS time he has a weird new arm, the princess is an immortal dragon, everyone is fucking dying again, and he still is expected to clean it all up. and this isn’t even mentioning the other games where he has gone through much more bullshit while zelda was allowed to sit in her castle and occasionally give him vague pieces of advice and new songs to play. my boy has gone though a LOT

BOTW/TOTK's Zelda is my favorite Princess Zelda of all time. She's been put through so much hardship, it gives me a lump in my throat. But her story is still one of triumph, as her daring actions (which she makes out of love for Hyrule and Link) ultimately save Hyrule.

One thing I’ll always be disappointed in is that on a handful of occasions they make it a point t mention Link is covered in scars and Robbie wants you to take off your shirt and show him the scars. Yet the game model has no scars visible to us. I want to see battle scarred Link.

I really like the symbolism with the Silent princesses withering away when hope seems lost and a healthy one when theres still hope and the dead one when Link was on the verge of dying and Zelda thinking she lost another person she holds dearly too and then a healthy one again when Link wakes up so he can stop the calamity for good its very well made I keep watching it over and over again

I loved how you used the silent princesses as a symbolism where when both link and Zelda were struggling with who they are, with Zelda having a hardships trying to open her powers, and link having to accept his fate as the princesses knight, the flowers were withering away, and when Zelda opens her powers, the flower blooms, symbolizing a flow of power and a change, meanwhile link’s flower completely withers away, showing that he passed away. And when he wakes up again, the flower is also blooming, showing a new beginning, where link doesn’t have to have such heavy burdens on him. Btw, I might not be exact on this analysis, but this is what I felt and that made me really happy. Also great job on the animation, it looks great!
