Thank you Flowtoys. Thank you Ronan. Who knows where our art would be without the both of you. Forever grateful.

I started hooping at 46, got my first poi toys at 47 on my bday. I'm moving, lost weight, lost the pain of arthritis because I move and I'm distracted, I've grown spiritual and I'm ready to to share and grow some more

thanks for this words ronan! i was also shy and felt naked when i dance without pois - dancing with pois give me so many possibles and opened my mind and let me feel the music and rhytms more! i turned my drug addict into a poi addict and i am really happy about it! ❤💫🦋

I can relate to this, although probably not as deeply as Ronan. When people find out that I juggle/spin poi/whatever, they often assume that I'm doing it so that I can perform for a living. My answer is always the same, "No, I do it because it's fun."

I think i needed to hear and watch this. I used to spin almost daily and suddenly, i stopped. I was comparing myself to others and thought "well, I'm not that good. Why continue?" but this video made me realize, who cares? Spin like you want. And just spin. If a technique comes to mind, do it! I miss that and i want it back... I wanna get back into my regular spinnings...

So glad you watched this and found it useful. Ronan shares so many nuggets of wisdom that are foundational to a healthy outlook on learning and being. Feel free to share with peops who you think would appreciate it! :)

I first heard this line while watching a Tamed Fire tutorial a few years ago and I always find myself coming back to it when I find myself doing pretty much just what you describe with the whole comparing myself to others and then letting it get me off kilter and it's during times like that when this quote really helps to keep me grounded: "Spin to express, NOT to impress." Ironically enough, when I remind myself to do that I inevitably start performing better and things fall into place so much better when I just try to feel my own flow. Glad you recognize what you want to improve...thats the biggest hurdle and the next step is much easier: just go out and make it happen:) All the best!

"As a poi spinner you are playing with infinity, so don't worry about what is going on over there. You are right here." That is amazing. I am going to be using this. Thank you Ronan for the inspiration.

Theres is something special I feel in my heart, because of people around the world loving the same art I do love. One art that turns more interesting more deep as you spend more and more time on it, connecting and developing your mind and body and with people. Thanks Ronan, Thanks flowtoys.

Ronan is based in Ireland, and used to come to the US, but hasn't since 2020. I believe he occasionally teaches at Vojta's Poi Retreats - they are usually in epic locations. You can find them here: poiretreat.com/ ... happy to hear you found flow, yoga and qigong - all very complimentary practices :)
