I'm now 58. Spent my forties battling stage 4 cancer, raising a newborn and having to change careers after getting laid off from my job...was unemployed for about 2 years from the Great Recession. Life is a crap shoot, but no matter what, you keep going until its over. I have failed hundreds of times, but also have some key successes intermixed among those failures. I did get a book written...currently working on a second one.

I recently graduated as a Nurse and being 48 years old had changed the way I want or prioritize things in life. I have an immediate set of goals that I hope are right. 1-Pass my NCLEX exam 2-Guarantee a clean source of water to drink and bath by filtering the water I drink and bath out of contaminants as much as I can (RO system) 3-Afford the best kind of food I can, (quality food over processed) nutritious dense foods and budget around that. 4-Exercise regularly. 5-Find a partner in crime to spend time and ultimately whatever I have left of life. 6-Keep improving myself, financially, mentally, fiscally and do fun things or stupid things depending on how I feel to spice things up a little.

@@patty109109 The sooner we start exercising and eating well, the better our health will be in the long run. I believe that improper nutrition and lack of movement are the root causes of many, if not most, illnesses. It might seem obvious, but it's often overlooked, which is concerning. Investing in building muscle now is crucial before sarcopenia, the age-related loss of muscle mass, sets in. We lose muscle every year, and as we get older, it becomes harder to maintain because our hormone levels drop. Exercise is the best way to keep our hormones balanced. I totally agree with you: spending money on good nutrition is an investment in our health that will keep us youthful, functional, and out of nursing homes.

Many of this lessons are also valuable in other phases of life. I am close to 57 and had to recalibrate my life several times, mostly by circumstainces outside the direct influence sphere. As Ken point out, you don't need to wait for that to happen, you can take more then you think, your life into your hands and recalibrate your life. Another thing, people tend to go for "Happiness" where the real value of life is more the "meaningfullness". You can't be happy all the time. Doing something like taking care of an ill relative for a longer time can be tough, but the value for you and your relative can be priceless. If you find yourselve meaningfull in what you do, your work, your relations, the community you are part of and use that as a domain where you make the list of most important things you want to concentrate on then you can you can regain management over your own life.

Im 43. I use to think I had plenty of time, but you just do some math and 43 is halfway. I have become more realistic with with how much I can do in a day, week, year.

Hey Ken, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos better than your Editor with good pricing and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?
