These cars were everywhere in Holland in the '60s & '70s. I don't think I ever got to ride in one, I would have remembered. Same with the 600. Now, I have been in a couple of 850's.

Crocodile Andi I love both! I can’t choose one. Also I haven’t driven the old one. I think that in this day and age you can’t daily drive the old one cause it doesn’t have seatbelts, airbags, power BUT the emotion that gives you driving this little car is everything!!

kamikaze5262 kamikaze5262 almost true, it’s not a daily car but this year I drove 5000 kms around and today I drove nonstop 150 to visit a friend, it’s possible with some tools just in case 😉 and in mines are seatbelts in the front and because of the airbag stuff, I’m not afraid if our time is there we must go no matter which way😉 this one has now a 650cc engine from a fiat 126 inside with something more than 20 hp and a friend pimped it up to 30 hp, nothing’s impossible haha Yea the emotion and the smile on your face and the others is priceless 😊

Yes you are right, that would be to tight unless you take the front seat out and sit on the backseat😉 what about the fiat 600 instead? My friend is almost 1.90 what I would guess and he picked that one because of the more room inside. Bad thing is the water cooled 4 cylinder engine which doesnt have that beautiful sound as the 500 does.

I cant see if you did the "doppietta" in italy means twice, when you downshift, like gear,clutch,neutral,gas,clutch and downshify

Nah I dont have to with that Fiat 500 as its gearbox is synced but certain models aren't so then you have to do so

Only the fiat 500 R (the last series of fiat 500) have a gearbox sync
