Life Now for Mom of 8-Year-Old Killed in Drive-By Shooting

As many residents of the D.C. Metropolitan area fear another up in violence, Prince George County mom Tiffani Evans recalls the day her son, 8-year-old Peyton John “PJ” Evans, was accidentally shot and killed in a drive-by shooting last summer. PJ had been in the middle of enjoying his dinner at his aunt’s house, PlayStation controller in hand, when the bullets rang out. “Everybody still hurt. It’s still a nightmare to everybody,” his mother says. Inside Edition Digital’s Johanna Li has more.

Truly Saddening. It’s scary. The generations seem to get dumber and more violent as time passes. I fear my kids going out into this world alone! Can’t send kids to school without mass shooting, bomb threats or other violent threats. Kids can’t enjoy dinner & games with cousins inside their own home. And don’t get me started on churches and children! I think when an innocent person is killed during a commission of a crime, they should be automatically charged with capitol or felony murder! They should get no possibility of parole & bring back the electric chair for people like this! They carelessly put the lives of others in danger not just the people they ‘intended’ the target to be for! It’s not just a lack of common sense anymore!

I'm crying listening to this story. My heart break's for his Mother. I lost a child and he was only two years old. He passed away from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. I'm praying for his Mother and family. Rest in peace PJ. I almost died with them and I was pregnant with our Second Son. He will be 17 this month so even though I lost my first born Son God have me one back. Plus I had another Son also. I have three handsome Son's that I will always protect and love unconditionally forever. My story was on TV in my hometown and it happened on December 24, 2004. That precious baby in the clear casket - I just cried . So overwhelming to see a child gone but that funeral home is amazing for sure. I work in end of life care as a hospice nurse.

August 23rd 2021 around 8:23pm I had been shot by a stray bullet in my home. I had been shot in the neck. Watching this video makes my anxiety rush so bad but makes me feel truly blessed. I am so sorry this has happened, I feel so horrible, I am in tears. R.I.P that beautiful soul.❤😢

I’m about to be a mother in 3 months, seeing these stories about how children get their lives taken away from them hurts me deep because I would never want anything like this happening to my baby. PJ deserved so much more than this, he didn’t deserve to die like this, he should still be living and playing football and having a good life, not in the ground at just 8 years old… it hurts seeing this and gun violence needs to stop, it’s probably never going to stop… I send many condolences to his family and his mother. So I’ve always felt so hurt when hearing children have passed, but it’s never really ever hit me until seeing one of those little bodies in a damn casket so insanely still, immediately made me cry seeing him there, I hope the family can learn to cope with this life changing pain.
