Bournemouth was the first town I moved to after completing my studies (Let's say I spent my entire 20s completing a Bachelor, Master's, and a Ph.D.). It kind of made me feel like an old man. Especially after encountering so many freshers in the town center! Definitely a love/hate relationship with the city, after 1+ years of living here. I like the beach and living next to it. The town has a reasonably varied range of eateries, with reasonable quality. I love walking into town, having a meal (Dosa world, Yummy Tumm's in particular), and then walking back home through the beach! Simple pleasures that never cease to get boring. I like hopping on a bus to Swanage on the weekends. Lovely bus ride. Or a long hiking day at Durdle Door. Dorset can be quite lovely The downside, I'll be honest I don't like the quality of people in Bournemouth/Poole. It's home to some of the poorest-performing schools in England. People in my office say the same, they avoid Poole/Bournemouth town centers, and they're locals. It's somewhat economically deprived and isn't all the vibrant/prosperous for a university town

Thank you so much!!💛 If I am completely honest I am not the biggest fan of the town. However, I think it's ideal for a postgraduate course, since you only get to spend a year or a year and a half. I am really satisfied with the uni as well, and I think you get a lot of opportunities to find a part/full time job if you're interested in that. Also, in terms of things to do, it's easy to visit different places, such as Southampton, Poole, Old Harry Rocks, Swansea, Durdle Door, Salisbury and Stonehenge, Bath to name a few, and London is only two hours away🤗 So yeah I think it's a good place to concentrate and focus on your studies but at the same time go on day trips 😊

@@nehajanrao605 haha no worries! There is a fair amount of cafes, but yeh there are plenty of hotels offering job vacancies since the place attracts many tourists especially in summer. And no I only stayed in Bournemouth for one year :)

@@Chibuike100 the place is alright, if I am honest I am not a massive fan (probably because I was already in love with living in Newcastle😅), but it's very pleasant, it's really nice that it's near sea as well🤗 In terms of accommodation, I am living in St Peter's Hall, in the city centre, and I'm beyond happy with my choice! The uni is not in the city centre and no accommodation is really close to it, so everyone just gets the uni bus (you can buy the annual bus pass, that's what I did). I've got friends that live at Bailey's Point, Skyline, Kaplan's, and they are all happy with their choices. Hope this helps!🤗

I almost didn't come to Bournemouth because I couldn't find a place to stay, and it was literally the last room available and I found it one week before uni starts..it was very stressful.. I don't really know about the rates though :/
