I never have had breakfast during 9th, 10th and 11th grade like him. I had to wake even earlier than him at about 5:30 AM in morning cause we had school at 7:00 and unluckily i was the first to get in the school bus so never got time to have breakfast early morning. I could barely get breakfast in morning like once in a two month or so. This has been my routine since 4-5 years.

He’s forgetting his mom pays for his home, food, power, internet, school, bike, waterpolo fees, soccer fees, football fees, bus fares,driving him home, cooking his dinner, making his breakfast. None of what his kid is playing is very serious if he can play/do all three and wake up at 5am. They’re hobbies rather than focuses/expertise. This dude has college education/study, the little kid probably has to study for s couple test a year. He seems shielded, I hope he opens his eyes up to the outside world and realises that in reality, he isn’t doing any of that himself, nor does he have to proactively study or provide for himself. Lol.

That’s cause it was a day in the summer for a Football player. All you have in the summer is weights/conditioning in the morning and class. Which isn’t that much especially cause the class load isn’t that heavy in the summer. Once you get to fall camp you’re literally there every day from 7am-9pm for like 3 weeks straight.

Honestly his day didn’t seem that difficult, plus from experience professors are more lenient with athletes. I mean his day really didn’t even start until 8:00 and he was done by 1:30. He practiced for 2 1/2 hours, did one class, then actually got to eat had the luxury of being able to not only nap, but nap for 4 hours and have two dinners.

My Day (High School); 1. Wake up at 6 AM 2. Leave at 6:45 AM 3. Weights with Occasional Running at 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM 4. School starts at 9:00 AM 5. 7 College Prep Classes 6. Padded Practice Starts at 3:30 PM 7. Padded Practice Ends at 5:30 PM 8. Get Home at 6:00 PM 9. Eat Dinner and Hopefully Finish at 6:30 PM 10. Do Homework for 2-3 Hours 11. Sleep and Repeat

Danny M It's very time consuming and tiring. Theyre up before a lot of students. Even after class they still have practice. Also not everyone gets a scholarship or even a full ride. So yes it is a struggle. You can still love something but still struggle with it.

I'll make this simple then. If they aren't getting a scholarship or a full ride, why are they even playing the sport? If you say it is in hopes of one day making it to the pro league, I would respond by saying that it is their choice then. You cannot compare their choice to play a sport to someone who HAS to work to pay for their own food and school material. Not everyone gets scholarships or a full ride, true. But they always have a choice. Nobody is forcing them to play a sport in university/college.

Danny M Okay but none of that has to do with how it is a struggle. Also when they don't have a scholarship or full ride that still means money is coming out of their pockets. When people talk about struggle it's because they have to balance with school work, personal life, and their body physically. Also because they play a sport they might not be able to get a outside job (due to how time consuming it all is) so even if you have a full ride you don't even have money out of pocket.
