Why feel sorry for someone who lives like a slob and doesn't take these dogs out to 'do their business" but lets them go on the floor and doesn't clean it up? Animal abuse. I feel sorry for the neighbors who have to deal with this stink and fleas.

Almost all of these people live this way because of serious mental illness beyond their control. It's not just that they're lazy and don't care. If we looked at problems like Diogenes and drug abuse as a society with more understanding then maybe that would be more helpful than further ostracizing these people.
