@@stonew1927 need to understang the concept of taking alms. Its to give the chance to plant good karma or good deeds.
@stonew1927Ай бұрын
@@BudiWidjajajkt Yes, I understand the concept. But when people struggle to feed themselves and their own families, it truly seems inconsiderate to expect them to share with you what little food they have. It seems downright condescending to even entertain the thought that you are "planting opportunities for good karma and deeds," as if they need that from you. I'm sure they can achieve the same throughout their days without sacrificing their well-being. More noble would be for you to gain good karma and good deeds by feeding them. But maybe that would require more of your time and planning, and take away from your otherwise peaceful existence . . .

@@stonew1927 the monk did not ask them, simply just standing on the road side. They dont even talk or said anything. People always can ignore them and they will just walk away without having any thought. So perhaps the understanding of they ask for food might be misunderstood. I even witness when some villagers chase them and wishing the monk to receive the alms, even though only a spoon of rice.

Reverent Monks. If this path works for you , please continue . In order for you to meditate and follow Buddhist principles to shorten this journey of samsara,, you have to live healthy. With all due respect, I kindly make a request. Even during this difficult pandemic, you are supported by the poor villages. They don't have much either to share. But, still they support you. Isn't it a good idea to devote some time to grow fruits and vegetable by yourself to be somewhat self sufficient. Please think about it. According to the Scientists and researchers, this pandemic will continue for long time. This is just an idea.

They are FOREST MONKS. SINCE THE TIME OF THE BUDDHA, monks have retreated into the depths of the forests and mountains, seeking physical isolation to aid them in the development of meditation and realization of the truth of the Buddha’s teaching. Those monks lived a life of simplicity, austerity and diligent effort. . Since his livelihood depended on the alms food he collected from those small settlements, a forest monk never knew where his next meal would come from, or whether he would get any food at all. The lifestyle of a Buddhist monk is founded on the ideal of life as a homeless wanderer who renounces the world and goes forth from the household, dresses in robes made from discarded cloth, depends on alms for a living and takes the forest as his dwelling place
