@@SabineHossenfelder Ich fand diverse Videos von Dir "nützlich", sowohl die Science News als auch die regulären. It should be noted that this almost happened on Earth as well, when the first life forms evolved photosynthesis. Over millions of years, the atmosphere was polluted with oxygen killing off almost all life. This happened several times until life evolved the ability to survive in an oxygen-rich environment.

@@JNCressey Yes, stop the dynamo, and you stop the planet from being habitable. That's just how it is. We are better off not even thinking that planets will ever have people "colonizing them." NASA GAVE UP on the idea. It is a better idea if we think of something more protected. Yet, we still have this fantasy of on the Moon Bases. The Chinese will make one, and everyone there will die a shorter life from being irradiated with cosmic bits that do have energy, and no one has a way to shield it. Habits is basically how your brain works. The more you do something, the more ingrained the neural pathway is, the easier it is to do it. This can lead to all kinds of things, automatic responses, intuition, personality, increase and decrease of anxiety in trained or untrained neural paths (disclaimer: don't try and train something you wouldn't want to do for the rest of your life. Like a diet or any other habit, it has to fit with you or it will just make your life harder. Your resentment or worry or stress is trained along with it. Your habit/happiness has to balance those things out or you'll be in trouble.) The easiest way to be who you want to be then logically is to have a picture of the direction you want to train your habits in. I chose to encourage my empathic nature because it's already there and it benefits cooperation, which benefits all of us and will work for everyone, even if I'm long dead. It's a auto-amplifying goal because my empathic nature and desire to encourage it necessitates a longing for sustainable methods that wouldn't just work for me but for everyone, regardless of time or culture, because my empathy requires me to be a good example that gets lots of positive feedback, because as empathic creatures we are tempted to mimic behaviour we enjoy in others. It even works for other social animals even though many of those are like republicans and theists and don't really know what their (good) nature is. They're effectively wrong on what makes social animals so successful - hint: you didn't invent the computer you're on and if you ever need heart surgery, you will most likely rely on the research and expertise of thousands of researchers in various areas to increase the chances of success via the efforts of the surgeon to acquire much of that knowledge to be able to successfully not kill you on the spot by accident or ignorance but help you instead. An app can help you with learning new habits, but I urge you to have multiple beneficial and sustainable reasons for changing those specific habits. If you want to eat more healthy or exercise more, why do you want that? Because it's healthy? To look good because you like the attention? Do you really care on a Friday at home in front of the TV after a long week of hard work? Or maybe because it makes you happy to feel good and to make it a habit that is a good example to loved ones as well? The more reasons you have and the more sustainable those are, the easier it is to acquire new habits and they will likely emphasize your reasons and help you emphasize the characteristics in your personality that you (and others) enjoy. So don't expect an app to help you change bad habits or give you new ones. The app helps to make it easier to form new habits and can inspire you to find and train habits that fit your personality. Taking some of the weight off of your brains to be aware while training habits and saving time in figuring out which habits are options to consider. It's great and I do recommend it, but never in place of figuring out who you are and want to be, but as a support in that search and growth. You can try out all kinds of habits and see if they fit and ditch what doesn't work for you, learn from it about yourself, be inspired to think about why it works or doesn't. But for the best results, always put your character development first; there's a neat balance between how much your habits shape your character and how your character shapes what habits fit you. Enjoy it.

The grammelot on the phone with just sabine talking and the other party saying unintelligible garbage, brought me child memories of peanuts cartoons where adults don't talk, but a sax plays instead. I enjoy this comical effect so much! Thank you Sabine! Your show is great, well researched, well tought, and well executed as much as the best shows I've ever seen! If not more!
