I am retired from EMS and after a 24 hour shift with 20 minutes to go, we could get a call and transport to the hospital and have to wait with the patient for a bed sometimes several hours. Instead of going home at 7AM we would get out at 10 or 11AM. Part of the job. Oh, i love the graphics.

Yep they fly over my house as well I sit on my patio and watch them coming in to San Antonio international Airport .I can even see the wheels down what a serge. Gets my blood moving and ♥ pumping I should have become a pilot. Watching the video sooooo much I really think I cld land this aircraft in an emergency .big ern of course wld be my instructor

Nice change from prior videos where you leave one gate and suddenly are arrival at the next. The overlay graphic with ATC audio to show the progression of the flight portion (following FAA regulations) is amazingly good. It inspires me to work harder on my path to the airlines... if you could help me turning back the calendar three dozen years.!!

I love flying on the MAX. More overhead cabin storage, and I think they have more legroom. Plus I have never once been on a 737 of any variant that had a door plug thing blow off. Not even one time!

BigErn, interesting to note when your FAs are required to be at the gate. My airline is the same. If they aren't there at an hour, the station is calling us looking for them. They seem incredulous that 30 min at the gate is the requirement

September 30th I officially start my job with Southwest Airlines at OMA on September 30th as an operations agent hopefully someday I see you at the gate. I am aware I will be in contact with a lot of people in a very short time such as scheduling, customer service agents, ramp agents, wheelchair assistants, flight crew, passengers, supervisor/manager, etc.

As far as content suggestions, maybe even for the podcast, some insight on Aviation Dispatch careers. I went through flight training up to CFI and couldn't fully get over motion sickness and ran into financial blockades, but have been thinking about making the jump to a dispatch career, and keeping flying as a hobby. Looks like its a very behind the scenes role that doesnt get a lot of credit!

Ernie its good to hear someone speaking positively about a Max my thoughts are if they were the devil the media paint them Pilots like yourself wouldnt fly them ,Virgin Australia have 35 on order and the media are already fear mongering saying dont fly on the Max ,and to make matters worse Qantas are retiring their 737 fleet and the replacement is Airbus 321 family,are you able to comment mate . Here is an idea Big Ern! Do a segment following a SWA Destination 225 cadet from 0 hours to the right seat with SWA. I just started the program in June and got my PPL yesterday. I think it would be a cool idea to follow a cadet, provide some mentorship etc and give people a realistic view of what it's like to change careers and chase the aviation dream for your followers as I know many of them are inspired by your videos to do the same (That's how it was for me)! It might also give some realistic timelines and experiences of the highs and lows of a journey! Just an idea of something I know I would want to watch. Thanks for all you do. 👏🏻

I do not fly for Southwest, so someone more qualified can probably answer. However, I believe they have to do a light check to make sure they are all in working order.

No, you need company and FAA approval to film in flight as a part 121 operator. It's almost never approved unless it's an empty ferry flight or repositioning flight.

@@mistervacation23 there’s a huge amount of corporate approval to allow these videos which is why Ernie isn’t allowed to film during actual flight times. He’s a professional as you can see and well versed in his job and is a worthy ambassador for Southwest Airlines.
