Had a question. Im attending a university for aviation with 2 semesters left. Waiting to take my commercial check ride. Before school I was a state trooper. I was thinking of going back to the patrol and trying to join the air guard. The patrol also has a fixed wing aviation unit. With the slowing of airline hiring. I don’t want to be a CFI forever. What’s your opinion on my plan? I saw your video on the guard form a few years ago so I value your perspective.

Great video and thanks to SWA to allow this video. It brought back a lot of memories working in the Boeing Field Delivery Center and Flight Test. 43 years at Boeing, four years in Navel Aviation and retiring in 2019. Now I dream about doing it.

An article in Flying Magazine years ago detailed the delivery process for Southwest. SW buys so many 73s that they get the full tanks and there is no test flight.

I just did 4 legs on Southwest and asked each crew if they knew you. Sorry they didn't. I was hoping to see you as my flights crew.

Awesome video captain. Here in India when we buy a new car, we only get fuel that takes us to the closest petrol pump (station). I guess in US ppl get a full tank of fuel, and that’s really nice. The car makers here are stingy I guess.

How did you get to Seattle

Worked at Boeing as Design Engineer. DId a couple years at Boeing Field being a delivery engineer. Loved it. Glad you could get one of the 737s from there. I never saw the max though. My term was 2001-2002. (Survived the Nisqually Earthquake on the 3rd floor.)
