In the lower surfaces of epidermis present some minute pores called stomata which are guarded by two kidney shaped cells called guard cells. Petiole join the leaf with stem.....tiny pores which are stomata are present on lower epidermis which are surrounded by guard cells guard cells helps in opening and closing of stomata ...stomata helps in exchange of gases like release oxygen and intake carbon dioxide.....water loss which is transpiration also take place through stomata....

Answers 1) Petiole 2) Pores- Stomata Functions- Green plants takes Carbon dioxide from Atmosphere and Release Oxygen, this transfer of gases is done by Stomata. These pores Stomata are guarded by Kidney shaped Guard Cells
