So context for the big bolter shell. the rifle and pistol variants shoot .75 caliber. The heavy bolter, the heavy machine variant fires a much larger round. that's what's on the ammo belts. So everyone is right?

Some of the video games also erroneously say every bolter fires .999 Godwyn or anything that’s basically a heavy bolter round which I give them it sounds more 40K than .75 caliber. Deathwing at least makes some sense to have normal bolters scaled up to fire heavy bolter rounds since you’re a Deathwing Terminator.

@@thevoices5880the heavy bolter fires the 999 Godwin as a standard so your 100% correct now that would be a sick custom blaster with a working backpack and I'm pretty sure the mk1 mk2 pattern bolters used by the thunder warriors and early first and second edition marines were of smaller caliber due to the mag size and shape so 75 cal at the least

Never played Warhammer, but the Blaster looks awesome! Nice you didn’t have to change out the motors. I’m a big fan of Mega, miss it. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome blaster. It would be awesome to have a whole 40k line. Eldar shuriken catapult that fires vortex. Tau rifles would be sweet too, feel like they would be good for rival

Bolter rounds come in many types, the standard bolter round has impact detonation or a timed delay after penetrating. They are like a 75 caliber gyrojet grenade launcher.

Rival may not be the good representation of a Bolter round but I still want to turn my challenger into a bolter because come, on it was clearly always meant to be one.

I feel this build reflects Space Marine scale Bolter weapons. This is the best anti shield round delivery. If you could run multiple of these at a game with juggernauts or had them as anti heavy on each team you could have interesting play regarding target priority for tags as well as having more shields because you have theoretically efficient ways to counter as long as your bolter player were up.

Mega xl would be good for a heavy bolter, that shoots far bigger bolts. That is also incidentally what Harker, that you showed the model for, lugs around. Regular bolters and bolt pistols that's meant for baseline humans are typically scaled down to around .50 cal. So for a boltgun used by an imperial guard officer, or a commissar's pistol, the standard elite dart is the correct size.

I definitely need this kit, either to make the full XL bolter or to eventually track down and hem down a motostryke for it. The one thing I can't, for the life of me, find, is a laspistol kit and/or mod guide, so my guard/bloodpact loadouts will have to wait, but this? This just seals the fact I now **must** bring my chapter's armor to life and use this glorious beast of a bolter on the field one day.

I mean, .75 cal would be akin to real world 20mm, while .999 cal (for the heavy bolters) would be pretty similar to real world 25mm, both of which are real shells used in anti-aircraft autocannons and rotary cannons on fighter aircraft (the famous A-10 Warthog is equipped with the GAU-8 Avenger which fires powerful 30mm shells). People usually reference modern grenade launchers as the closest real world equivalent to a bolter which is true to some extent, but even those utilize low-pressure shells that are much larger than bolter rounds. For example platforms such as the M203 under-barrel grenade launcher or Milkor MGL use large 37mm, 38mm, and 40mm grenade shells. The full-auto MK19 is a belt-fed grenade launcher system typically mounted on vehicles or fortified positions that fires 40mm grenades. There's also the MK-47 "Striker 40" which is basically an updated and more modern version of the MK-19. It is equipped with an electronic fire-control system and range finder that is capable of firing programmable 40mm airburst "smart munitions" as well as a variety of other types of unguided rounds containing mission/application specific payloads. The Russian military has their own automatic grenade launcher weapon system called the AGS-30 that fires smaller 30mm grenades. There are also 25mm and 35mm grenade launcher systems manufactured and/or employed by a number of military forces throughout the world. For example the US military once contracted the German firearm manufacturer Heckler & Koch and the tech company Alliant to develop an "all in one" weapon system which led to development of the XM-29 "OICW". This platform incorporated a 5.56mm assault rifle with a semi-automatic bullpup 25mm grenade launcher that utilized programmable smart munitions and an electronic fire-control system and range finding unit. While this was ultimately a failure, it did lead to the development of the XM-25 "CDTE" System designed by H&K and Orbital ATK. The XM-25 was basically just the 25mm semiauto grenade launcher system without the integrated 5.56mm rifle and was fielded into service for a short testing period during the War in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2013. Unfortunately due to issues with malfunctions in the field and recent military budget cuts at the time, the program's official service entry which was slated for 2017 was delayed before ultimately being abandoned entirely in 2018 following cancelation of the contract with Orbital ATK in early 2017. Too bad honestly because it was a wicked cool concept capable of really dealing out some serious pain when it was working properly, and with a bit more development the reliability/malfunction issues could have been addressed and rectified to create a powerful new infantry weapon for the US arsenal.

What are and where do you get upgraded motors and cages for Mega? Can fangs or krakens work? Whats the fps.. ive honestly never seen,read, or heard much about upgrades to Mega flywheels.. seems like a missed opportunity. The motostryke for all its miinor flaws is pretty awesome imo.

You mentioned a chainsword you should do it Dr flux it would be awesome I think you should also make some power armor from 40K I know you have your Halo and then your Dooms armor but I think it would be really cool if you made the armor from Warhammer 40K

Well it does. Since rocket took time to accelerate, a bolt round would be ineffective to kill close range enemy due to low velocity. To counter this, a bolt round was launch via traditional shell to gave it a boost, then ignited the rocket mid air for the extra range and force.

@@kail4997 do the projectiles have fins for stabilization or are the projectiles corkscrewed giving them spin when they are pushed forward by the thrust

@@stetonwalters574 I don’t recalled any rendition of bolt rounds having fins, it’s probably corkscrewed. But the truth is bolt guns were boxy gun made for tiny plastic soldiers, GW didn’t gave too much thought about how it works in realistic details.
