I wrote about forgiving my parents for any grievances and any feelings of resentment...I'll keep praying. Those emotions make us angst and we don't honour them. But now I tell God I don't wanna be held captive by those things and honour them.

The Bible also says protect your heart above all else. So if they are toxic, you don't have to be around them.
@karenscales50773 жыл бұрын
You still honor them. God gave no provisions. The man just said it. I just met a young lady that lost her Mother. She still is screaming toxic. Yet lives in depression. Her word against her Mother's. You can't go around God's word. Pray for them. Mail them sweet cards. It's important. Yes, you guard your heart. But, still. They gave you life. I would rather have a Toxic Mother than no Mother at all. I have no Parents. They are dead.

That's exactly right! There is so much truth in this! Honor the office because it's what is right and what we were told to do!

Thank you for your message. First video I've seen of yours. I honor my parents. I am in good health partly because of this. My brother never honored either of my parents. I've told him that long life is promised to us for this. I'm legalistic though according to him. He is in very poor health and probably will die soon.... When we listen and obey God, He brings us blessings. Love and honor your parents. It brings blessings. Thank you for your video.

I'm always telling myself I need to take care of my mom. I wish I never got sick. I could be working hard to take care of my family & doing what I went to school for & furthering my education. I wish I never gotten sick.

I’m still confused. He used the definition of “honor” using modern day examples. There are a lot of words that don’t translate from ancient Jewish culture. What does it mean and how do you do it using the example of horrible parents?

I get confused with this subject, for example my mom is abusive and violent even now, she steals from me all the time. She is destructive, and I can't be around her, how do I be around someone like that? Didn't God say have nothing to do with someone quick to anger?
@myfriendcharley7 жыл бұрын
that's a tough question... I personally believe if you have disagreements with your mom, you should let her know what they are. That would be honoring her, because you respected her enough to talk about the situation. If you can't talk with her, just continue to pray for her and ask God to guide you, but continue to respect her and try your best to be patient with her. To me, that's true honor even under your unfortunate circumstances. God bless you!

It is a tough question but that's you know it's important. Most things in life that's easy keep us weak and you don't want that. When it comes down to it. God doesn't say if you want to and he doesn't say you don't have to if your parents have been abusive or neglected you. The military makes it easy to understand when you're an enlistee it doesn't matter if you're an E-9 thats served 30 years. You will salute an officer even if it's an 0-1 thats just out of the Academy. You're saluting the rank not the man. It's like you're saluting the uniform that's being wore by a man or trash can. You salute the rank/position bc it's responsible for you and it's carrying you and countless others . so the job gets hard. It's just like George Floyd. He was killed by a bad cop, but that don't give us the right to not honor the position. If we let the bad ruun our attitudes and we dishonor the good then this country's doom and we should all be trembling B.C. what we've done as individuals to save this country and make it better can be summed up without using any words or gestures and sadly most dead people are better citizens bc they don't respect or disrespect. Most of the living have no problem disrespecting. They always got an excuse for that, but never can respect without expecting something in return.

Love them, Treat them with respect, when they ask you to do something, obey them as long as it is not a sin or a crime or something very hard. Listen to their advice and be the utmost good to them (make them gifts, take them on vacation if you can ect) Try to be the best towards them.
