Life under occupation in Hebron: Soldiers harass teachers and school children, Oct.-Nov. 2017

In October and November 2017, B’Tselem recorded several incidents in which Israeli soldiers harassed pupils and teachers who must go through a gate the military installed about 30 meters from the school and 50 meters from the road leading to the settlement of Kiryat Arba. Soldiers detained several teachers and, in one case, kept two in custody for about an hour.
The video was edited by B’Tselem from footage filmed by Manal al-Ja’bri, Suzan Jabber and ‘Abd al-‘Alim a-Salaimeh.

There's no evidence of bullying in the video. The soldiers simply take the kid aside and deal with him. That's not bullying. There's no cowardice either. This is not a situation which calls for courage, so the lack of it is irrelevant. It's just a routine incident for the soldiers to deal with.

you can actually clearly see at the beginning what the real inciting incident, not involving any stone, is. the soldiers appear to have a policy of demanding that the students don't look at them to show that they're scared of them. the students generally seem to be aware, and don't look at the soldiers to avoid conflict. as the initially aggressing soldier turns around to face the students, he scans the small crowd, makes eye contact with the one student, and then storms towards him intimidatingly and shouts at and shoves the boy. the boy displays deliberate defiance, which to the soldiers means that they should keep escalating to force submission somehow, they don't want to let the kid get away with as much as holding eye contact. and of course anyone gathering around and seeming to challenge what they're doing in any way also is very likely to face threats to make them display submission.

At the end of the day you’re the only one who has to live with the decisions you make, I’d be willing to bet no matter how hard it may be now to go through what you’re forced to go through for standing up for what’s right that it would be so much harder for you to live with yourself carrying that weight with you for the rest of your life if you chose to just go with the status quo in order to avoid jail time.
