I'm in South Florida, but I have lots of relatives in your area, so while we knew we weren't gonna get much of either of those storms here, I was very scared for those loved ones in the Tampa area. It was scary enough watching the storms' progress on TV when we weren't getting it, but I can imagine how terrifying it was knowing it was coming to you, as we've been through it more than a few times in the 25+ years I've lived down here. I do pretty much everything you did, but you mentioned one tip that I'll definitely be using next time we're threatened with a big storm (hopefully a long time from now) - putting bags of water in the freezer. Great idea. I'm really glad you guys came through both of those monster storms okay, and my heart goes out to those who weren't so lucky and are still suffering and struggling. Btw, I'm sure you know, but maybe it'd be a good idea to get some sandbags for that bathroom door next time.

This was our first BIG storm since moving here in 2018. It was very eye-opening! Thank you for the tips and your comment! We are planning to install a french drain on our side yard so the water level never happens like that again. Take care!
