Girlieeeee! Babes! You've got to get your feet into rock musicals! Once you've got a handle on that kind of material, contemporary pop material becomes so much easier. So in that vein, Rent (obvi), Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Murder Ballad, American Idiot, Rocky Horror, Hedwig, Jagged Little Pill (if possible) amongst many others. I absolutley ❤ rock musicals, but aside from those The Pirate Queen is an underrated masterpiece (by the same people who made Les Mis), Jekyll and Hyde (you'd be an incredible Lucy!), and tick, tick, BOOM! have been living in my mind rent free for months 😊 It truly is a neverending cycle, but I'm so excited for you take it on and dive into it headfirst 💜 Excited to see what the bucket list item is, bestie; love ya!

I’d recommend Anastasia (Broadway in your case, though there is a movie), Jekyll and Hyde, and Hazbin Hotel the TV show. There won’t ever be a live broadway version, but nearly all of the cast are Broadway singers. So if any of their voices suit yours, I would work backwards and see what shows they’ve been in!

I have so many musicals to recommend!! We have the big ones like Wicked, Newsies, Mean Girls, Beetlejuice, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Waitress, Six: The Musical, and Hadestown. Some older ones like Les Miserables, Grease, The Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, The Music Man, Anything Goes, Chicago, and Into the Woods. Some lesser known, but still popular like Come From Away, Bonnie and Clyde, Moulin Rouge, The Last 5 Years, Once on This Island, Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, Dogfight, Big Fish, Catch Me If You Can, Finding Neverland, Tick, Tick, Boom, and Little Women. And just for fun, some of the new musicals on Broadway like The Notebook, Water for Elephants, The Great Gatsby, and The Outsiders. And my personal favorite is Anastasia! There are so many more, but I know I already put too many! 😂 Anyways, I love you and all your content! Truly inspiring for me as I am starting as a Musical Theater major in the fall. Please look into the Musical Six, its about King Henrys 6 wives, and its more of a pop-band based show with only 6 women and my god could they carry an entire production, it was so playful and fun!!

I’m gonna recommend the first musical I ever worked on which is Everybody’s Talking About Jamie! It’s based off of a true story here in the UK. I know the tour did go over LA a couple of years ago so idk if you saw it. If you want to watch it there’s a pro shot version that was broadcast live to cinemas - you can probably find a slime tutorial on YT. There is now a movie of the musical but I’ve not watched it to compare the two. All the best for your auditions! 💜

A few months ago a play called a dolls house came to our theatre and I loved it I saw it twice and got to interview the cast for my drama club it was so fun! And the this summer I did Henry the fifth for a local Shakespeare festival and got to work with many members of the cast from a dolls house. Long story short I was fangirling so hard! so anyway I would recommend that for a play and then if you haven’t seen Falsettos I am obsessed right now so please please watch that one!!!
