If you can’t get deposits back, have your wedding. It’s about you and your husband! Let those who can come, come and offer a virtual streaming for those who can’t. I got married during COVID June 2020. It was easier on our pockets because of the limits however we offered streaming. You guys can always do renewal ceremonies down the line.

I suggest you marry this year, because you cannot control both USA and Canada. Every country has their own rules. They change them as they please. I know you want everyone on your list to attend but you'll be waiting for a very very long time.

Neiicey, my wedding plans last year were messed up due to Covid-19, so I get it! I would say it's more about the marriage than the party (wedding) as long as your surround by those you share mutual love with that's all that matters. Plus you could always have a wedding later or on your first anniversary. Lastly, the destination wedding suits you, go for it!

I’m in a similar boat to you. My husband (our wedding was supposed to be August 2020 but we postponed the reception & got married) is from Toronto and I’m from DC. We pushed our reception to June 2021 but now canceling because of the lockdown in Canada since our Toronto family can’t make it to the DC reception. It absolutely sucks but the goal for us was just to get married so we’re good with just moving on with our lives and closing the wedding chapter of our lives. Good luck with your wedding situation!

Just a little advice! As married woman, whom had (and still has) several investment properties and assets before marrying. Get a cohabitation agreement/prenup in place. I know it’s a hard topic to discuss, just cover what you have built on your own. I pray God blesses your union, but sometimes people change. God bless!

Though I’ve remarried.. I personally think this is the best advice ever!! I had a peaceful divorce because of this. No one think of or want to discuss this topic because it can come off as a negative but it can honestly be the best advance decision in life. Two ppl can grow apart without drama so it’s best to protect yourself at all cost. You said it best!! Great post!!

Everyone who’s been through a divorce wish they got this advice beforehand. Speaking as someone who has gone through 2 divorces, even though dividing assets weren’t an issue because neither one of us had anything, however going through the process is emotionally draining on so many levels. Now that I’m at a different stage in life to where I actually have lucrative assets, I will not make this decision lightly if I ever choose to marry again. No matter how happy or in love you are - you never really know someone until they don’t get what they want from you.

Awww it’s so hard planning a wedding but especially hard planning during these uncertain times. I have had many friends had to postpone their weddings due to COVID. many went ahead and got married at the courthouse and have booked the "big wedding" for another day.. Despite the frustration with your braces and ever changing wedding plans, it's good to see you maintaining a positive attitude 🙂. Have you & your fiancé considered streaming your wedding via Zoom for your family and friends that can't make it? A lot of people have had beautiful, intimate weddings on beaches, in botanical gardens, and backyards with those few who could attend and streamed it via Zoom for the larger amount who could not due to the pandemic. It was not what they orginally wanted, as no one could've expected a pandemic the year they planned to get married, but on upside couples I know saved money by not using large venues & catering for a smaller group of attendees. The biggest win, is their forever together 👰🏾‍♀️💍🤵🏾‍♂️💕. A larger celebration can always be held in the future.

When I had ceramic braces they shifted alot during the 24 months. Honestly, I didnt love the results until 2 months after getting them off. Stuck with it!! Congrats on everything
