Life Update!! Cat Sitting, Knee Injections, and More!! 😺🩹

Hi Jen, I am 56 and have a right knee that is arthritic and worn out. I had the gel shots in that knee . The knee was sore the first day or two but was manageable. My doc told me to stay off it for 48 hours. ( it is funny that doctors have different differing opinions on what to do after a procedure. ) The shots made my knee pain go down 75 %. but the best part for me was that it has stabilized my knee quiet a bit. I guess there is a cup on the bottom of the knee that the ball rests in it has been sliding around for years, and causes the knee to lock up. extremally painful. About a month after the last shot I moved to a new place, there was a lot of walking and lifting. Of course I overdid it and my knee was in extream pain and loosened up a little. after I got off of it for another couple of day's it tightened up some and the pain went back to almost were it was after the last shot of the three . Sorry for being long winded. I just wanted to let you know the Gel shots are well worth the pain, time and hassle. I look forward to when I can have the next injections. The doctor said the condition of the knee is eligible for the next battery of shots and that my insurance will ok it. I hope you have the same results as me. I'm so sorry about all the pain you dealt with but am hopeful that it helps and am proud of you for getting it done. I'm also sorry Kurt is moving away but I'm very proud of him too for getting a new job and I know you guys will absolutely still find ways to hang out, especially with all the traveling Jacob does. I sympathize w you, Pen. I was diagnosed w SLE back in '96. Have osteoarthritis in both knees and have had the rounds w cortisone. Unfortunately, the lupus has attacked my kidneys, so now I have CKD. Manage my SLE w Hydroxychloroquine and kidneys w generic Cellcept. I hope the gel injections give you long-lasting relief.❤

Bless your heart! I've had gel injections in my left knee about 6 months ago, and before that, they did Laproscopic surgery on that knee. My biggest issues are my back, and I have been thru all sorts of stuff with it since childhood, myself. I just got a Cortisone injection in my back this morning. Jenny I certainly understand knee pai, I’m bone on bone and they want to do a total knee replacement, not a fan. I too have an autoimmune disease, fibromyalgia and I live in pain 24/7. Life can be very uncomfortable, I’ve had the injections and they didn’t work for me I guess I’m too far gone, ugh 😩 Sweet kitties, cats are my life I have 5 in the house and a colony outside of 12 or so, we spay and neuter and get them shots, do the best I can with neighbors that are worthless I hope that all goes well for you dear, feel better soon🤗🥰🐈‍⬛🐾🐈

You have femoral anteversion (knock knee)? Surgery is required to fix knee issues if this is the case. I've had the surgery done on both my legs now. Wheelchair for months. Brutal. But it needs to be done or the constant inward tension on the knees will continue to cause damage.

I'm sorry, but your doctor didn't do you any favors by lying to you. You'd have been better off if you were told, "it's going to hurt", so you could prepare for it mentally. At least if you get it again you'll know what to expect. Hope it helps better in the long run. 💚💚💚 Took my St Patrick nail stickers off the day after 🍀. Figure I'll let my nails breathe for a week before putting on new ones. Probably the stained glass ones😸. Also got some transparent ones to go over some of my favorite nail polish colors 🎉.
