You seem like a very thoughtful mom. Maybe your children cried when you said you guys were moving because of the unknown, & it would be the end of their chapter that included their dad & mom together in your home. My parents were divorced, and that's how I felt when we moved. I love how healthy your outlook is, & how you're coming out of the grief stage, & into the flourish phase. Excited for you guys.

It’s totally understandable to go get things sorted for you and your children. This year has been difficult. Finding a school with teachers and staff that support your children is so important! You got this! I look forward to how your journey goes and what you feel okay with sharing.

In the UK..just moved 3 hours away. My biggest anxiety by far was the kids changing schools. What I have learned is that 1) I was probably way more nervous than they were! and 2) they are soooo resilient, it's crazy. They have both been at the new school for 3 weeks now and are doing great. Like you, I never went through any major changes until recently but the fact that the kids have said they are so much happier where we are now is such a motivator to just 'go with it' sometimes! Have been watching your channel for a long time , never commented but today felt compelled to wish you all the best with your new adventure!

I think you are doing the right thing for changing schools. We moved and thought the same about her school. It didn’t take very long for her the to “move” on. It is a move that you need to do . You do you and don’t worry about everyone else’s thoughts.! It’s all about the kids and I’m happy for you all!!

I had to switch schools multiple times as a kid, and while it was scary it built resilience. Also the new friendships you make just add to the people you have to support you. I still stay in touch with people from old schools and I think for your family it will be a positive experience!

Johanna, the new house is definately meant for you and the children. Love Everley's comment. Also, as much as we want to be all things to all people, including our goals, some times we need to to put the brakes on. It is slow down now or we will come to complete stop eventually. Also, I every much appreciate you now using "solo parenting" rather than single parenting,.when their is another parent in the children's lives.

Just a note to say that I’m one of 9 kids and my dad worked for IBM. Therefor we moved about every three years. This made us all very adaptable to life’s changes. Your kids will thrive. You are on the right track with searching for help for the kids anxiety. If the first therapist doesn’t click, find another until your kiddo feels supported. You are rocking this (even if it doesn’t feel like it sometimes). Hugs🌸

while no one has had a great year this past year, you and your children have had a lot more negative than many. I truly believe that with a mom like you, who has taken time to recognize the struggle you were having post married life, is going to be there with them to support them through any challenges a move might bring them. this is an important fresh start for them too, instead of living with the ghost of what was in their current life. .... I'm truly excited for this new chapter in your lives, I'm sure it'll be amazing.

Big changes! Exciting times! Wish you guys the best! re: anxiety, the children will learn resilience, keep a balanced view!! Remember you decide what you share, if there is too much or if there is issues there, you can maybe make a plan about what to share in your blogs, and keep all the other things out, so there is a clear boundary. Hope the move goes well ❤️❤️❤️

I grew up in a small town and in grade 7 we moved across town so I went to a different school for grade 8. I went from a D student to (a most improved student award) to a B student. Your kids might just thrive like I did with a new change. I wish you all the best. Liza in Ajax

Amazing! I'm so happy for you and your children. Sometimes we have to make changes, 99% of the time it's for the better. My parents divorced when I was nine, my brother and I had to move to a different country, we were upset but to know you are making new roots is grounding and to also feel that my mum was happier, although it was hard for her made it all worth the change. We created such amazing memories and it made me the person I am today. Happy, strong, resilient and knowing I can make things happen no matter how hard life gets because my mum did it. Wishing you and your children much happiness in your new venture ❤❤😢

I moved schools between 4th and 5th grade. It was a little hard at first but it worked out for the best. My old schools went down the tubes not long after we left and the new schools were so much better.

That anger they first felt is probably grief - they lose something that has been theirs for their whole life. Smaller kids tend to grief for short amounts of time in a longer period all together and teenagers who are very emotional usually hide away. So just for them to know you are there for them is everything. I had to move in my teenage years. Even though I had new opportunities and I knew it had to happen, I was still sad about leaving my friends. My mistake was that I never told my parents because I didn't want them to worry about me. I hope you manage through this and get settled in your new place. And I hope your kids got to say proper goodbyes to your old house. Be safe and I'm happy that for you this move is uplifing. For the new beginnings! :)

I would love to see a video on what you’re setting aside and will need for you and the kids for the move! Like the stuff you will need while you’re living out of a suitcase for a little bit, cleaning stuff, what you will need for the actual move. Moving from NB to your neck of the woods in Ontario in a couple months! ♥️

My dad was in the military when I grew up and we had to change schools whenever he got stationed somewhere new. As a kid, I hated that, however, as an adult I really think those changes better prepared me to handle change as an adult.

This has definitely been a hard school year. My grandkids, boy age 8 and girl 11, go to school two days a week with the other days home on computer. My granddaughter is thriving but grandson is not. He loves the in school days but hates the computer. Hates people looking at him and turns the picture off. Their Mom thinks they’ve really dumbed down the work this year and he’s bored. His teacher keeps getting him and another boy mixed up and calls him the wrong name a lot. The teacher is now paying him a quarter every time she gets his name wrong. They moved and switched school districts two school years ago and they did so much better than my daughter and son-in-law thought they’d do. Kids are resilient and your kids will be fine. You know them and what’s best for them. Sometimes a new school district is just what your kids need to restart their learning. I hope your move goes smoothly and that you all enjoy the new house. ❤️
