Oh no, with your Dad, you have to take him somewhere else. Your Dad is not playing. He is right. Those nursing homes are horrible. If you find a good one, you are lucky. Youshould, lokk into suing that place for malpractice. Your dad is worse because of them.. your Dad good for him he did not sit there and ,take that crap from thrm! I am sorry for your wife's loss. We have to tell people we care more often.

Rich, I’m so sorry to hear this about your dad. My dad went through much of the sane thing in 2001 while at a VA facility in central Texas. My prayers are with you, your mom and especially your dad.

Boss ,if you see any paramedics ,emt, ask them about the local nursing homes ,my son is paramedic/firefighter they will tell you which homes are worth a darn, good luck.

So sorry that you are going through this. I had a similar situation with my father in 2019 but my father had dementia. The assisted living places/nursing homes don't always do the best job on providing good care like they should. God bless you and your family during this difficult time.

Hey wow I'm really sorry about all that Rich!! I know you can not see it right now BUT you are going to be ok,, it has got to be very hard to see your dad that way.. BUT think God he is a strong man and refuses to be treated like that.. and I'm very sorry about your wife's side of the family as well!! I'm sorry about your dad getting mistreated in the nursing home. I'm glad that he got himself out of there. Some of these nursing homes are pathetic anymore. I just lost my grandma over a month ago because of mistreatment there. She was only there 11 days and before that, she was living in her own. She had a small sore on her lower back area and the nursing home didn't take care of small sore properly and it got a lot bigger and got infected and she ended up with sepsis and passed away from it. I can totally relate with what you're going through Rich. Hopefully things will get better for your dad and that he can recover. I just want to add that the nursing home that my grandma was in was fined $9000 by the state for their mistreatment to my grandma. I seen it in my local news around 2 weeks ago.

Nursing homes can be brutal. The staff is underpaid and overworked, and that tax is paid in a lack of patient care.

@@DewyBanksbanks The nursing homes get paid well though for each resident. I think they get around $8000 a month per person. When they get paid that kind of money, the residents should be receiving much better care. I also heard that they are understaffed at some places. I think a lot of the people that work in these homes anymore also have a lack of work ethic and that they don't care much about the residents there. Several residents are victims anymore. Unfortunately, I see it in the news often. They need to hire more people and better people that do their job well and pay them what they deserve. It's awful that these residents get abused like this and lose their lives.

@@waylinbuerger2753 Nursing homes get paid bundles of cash but as in most jobs that cash do not trickle down to the grunt workers who put in most of the sweat. They do need to hire more people and pay them their worth but because they don't...and even won't...the patient pays. I am not defending nursing homes and for the most part I agree with you but until the needed changes are made the problems will continue.

I had the sama nasal issue for years. My GF pointed out I have allergies, she's an NP. Took Allegra, cleared. Maybe see your ENT doctor to confirm if that's the case for you. Feels nice having that special someone looking out for you. 😊 Your dad is fighting the good fight to live life as best as possible. All I can share is make most of the time with your dad. Even if it's just sitting down with him and having conversations about life. The same with the kids. It's always tough when loved ones are ill and you feel powerless to make it better. 😢 love out to your family❤ we will still b here no rush for vids. Im sure many of us are praying for youz. So sorry for your loss. As i said b4 the aides have too many patients . Its like an assembly line. Hopefully he will get better care . He is brave and smart to escape to the hospital. They have social workers and care cordinaters for a release plan when he is better. DONT let them send him back there are better places but most are just old people jail.

My Dad was in a rehab, it wasn't the best place. He came home, then back to the hospital. That's when we found out he had MRSA (probably from a contaminated catheter). Unfortunately, it turned into sepsis. He passed away two months ago, yesterday. Today would have been my parents 52nd wedding anniversary.. Man, it's heartbreaking seeing you and your family go through this. My prayers are with you all.. 🙏

my mom was in a nursing home in amarillo.and one day she complained abouthe food.and the nurse wwhent nuts on her left leg with a baseball bat just when she got out of hip surgery.she knew she was fired anywaays and took it out on my moms leg.their was witnesses so nurse was arrested.they put her in a home in claude tx after that she had a window overlooking nothing but a bare field.she was happy there though no 5th floor no window stuff.she passed away 2 years ago at 87.she loved that window overlooking bare field.aand everyone was nice to her there

I am not saying there all bad but the majority are. You may not be ready but the best place for him is hospice they will take them if they aren't expected to make it more than six months. Sadly with health, I won’t call it healthcare, you need to advocate for a family member in hospital every day if they are to get proper care. Pay taxes all your life for what, poor treatment at end of life? I hope your father is treated better

Get him on a KETO diet!!! Asap!!! They will tell you that he needs to restrict salt. Ahhahhh restrict carbs and he will start to reverse. I am living proof.
