It's been a while since I posted! I needed to take a break from KZbin to figure out my life, and I wanted to update you on what I've been up to. Back in April of 2021, I pulled the trigger on a brand new white Ram Promaster 2500 and started converting it into a campervan, aka tiny house on wheels! Very excited for that! Once the van is done, I'll definitely share more about the costs, buildout, plus a full van tour, so stay tuned. But for now, I wanted to share about some of my recent major life decisions and the financial reasoning behind these decisions. So cozy up and let's do some catching up!

Rose I missed your video’s. How many people do you know that are not happy? If they could be with somebody else, live somewhere else but they don’t have the guts to do anything about it which is a tragedy. Those choices shorten your life and cause you to lose faith and hope for“Freedom and Adventure”. It takes a lot of courage to leave a relationship and move. You knew there was something missing in your life and know there is someone else suited better for you and now you have moved and have made a plan to live somewhere else. You have taken action towards creating the things that you want having the belief things are going to workout on your journey. You have got to keep following your plan and things will work out. Your Awesome Rose! ”Felicidades”

Hi Rose! Most people are going to say something different, but in my case, when I saw that you had colored your hair and the #VanLife I wondered if something was wrong or if you had just going through something. When you said “divorce “then it made sense. I hope that you can take this time to unwind, relax, and work on yourself! Just make sure that you use this time for self improvement and self development, and come back healthy and stronger than before. Enjoy the novelty while it lasts. Also, keep in mind that you’re in your 30s now. You talk about money and financial freedom, but your most precious asset is time. Make sure that you don’t waste too much time and end up regretting it. This is coming from someone who spent over a decade abroad, So I’m not speaking from a place of fear. Enjoy this time, but make the best of it and don’t get “lost “!

So happy for you!! I am from Mexico City. I follow you because my father was a stockbroker (Calle Madero). People don’t realize that we have the biggest city in North America. Mexico City is one of the most important financial centers and cultural places in the world.. Some areas are incredibly affluent and we have some of the best gastronomy in the world. Funny how ignorance immediately assumes that we are undeveloped rural and ignorant. Of course, like any major city, you must avoid the undesirable “colonias”

Just one of the pitfalls of debt free financial freedom. Glad I am making money from the states and using other people's money to build generational wealth :) Hoping "building generational wealth" gains traction over "debt free is the only way" someday soon. These camper vans and not wanting to work past 40 that so many other millennials are obsessed with... there are still some millennials that want to leave millions for our kids and grandkids.

I don't know about mexico city. I was there 10 years ago and was shocked at how bad the air quality was (and I was living in southern california at the time LOL). Also, the city is built on a lake bed in a high seismic zone. Add to that, there are 2 active volcanoes right outside the city. Traffic was a nightmare too (also coming from a southern californian at the time!) If there's a city I would like to live, it would be Puerto Vallarta. You could make lots of money off AirBnB there and you get the pacific ocean breeze. Also, it's a lot more relaxing environment yet it has all the things you need for an urban lifestyle.

Mexican here: I live in Guadalajara (Mexico’s second largest city) and there’s no way I would move to Mexico City full time, absolutely not. Too crowded, too contaminated, traffic is a nightmare, government is… lacking, (to keep it diplomatic), the airport is overwhelmed and being delayed by hours at a time is the only constant. Insecurity is massive, you can get mugged in broad daylight and let alone if you look foreigner. The earthquakes… man, most of my friends who have lived there have PTSD and those are a frequent occurrence; as mucha as Mexico City has worked to improve the infrastructure, there’s no guarantee to make it out safely. I work for IT in Guadalajara (GDL is Mexico’s tech hub) and I get offers to relocate to Mexico City from time to time… nope, never even considering those. Guadalajara has a far superior quality of life, with all the entertainment and access that big and cosmopolitan cities have. I’m happy that Rose has Mexico City in such high regard but I would like her to take into account more stuff about it that make quality of life not as great as in paper. Finally, I love Puerto Vallarta too, it is located at the same state as Guadalajara (Jalisco) and it’s a 4 hour drive away. The only thing deterring me from moving there would be the heat, I much prefer Guadalajara’s drier heat.

Been hearing good things about Mexico City! Please keep us posted on living there (monthly expenses, safety, cool neighborhoods to live in, etc). I would truly love to know more details. I’m considering Portugal (Lisbon or Porto) or Mexico City as a move.

Love the idea of turning your investments into cash flow. Very curious as to how you plan to insure the van when you rent it out - how are you going to make the renters liable for mishaps such as property damage or accidents. Please be aware of your safety in Mexico, (my wife is a native), law and order is far different down there.

I ‘m glad she said the truth about home ownership. It usually isn’t the best thing. The money you constantly put into it and the time. It’s usually not worth it. Luckily I bought a small ranch house fairly cheap before the prices went crazy. Now I have money from equity to maintain it and the interest rates are so low my new mortgage was the same price per month. Maintaining a small ranch house with a low mortgage makes it worth it.

I started living in a van at the beginning of the year and working remotely. I will agree with you, it is very draining for all the reasons you mentioned, and more. Now I am investing in securing a home base where I can recharge my human battery. I also recently started investing and made my first 3k in two years, but it seems that the market has changed so much in that short time. That is what has brought me to your channel. I'm glad I found it. Your videos are well-structured and easy to understand, and they are full of so much information. Seeing this video made me smile a bit as I too felt a kind of envy whenever I saw someone living on the road with seemingly total freedom. Though, now I know that it requires a certain dedication and planning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wits. Many blessings to your endeavors!

Your ROI on your van is an overly gross simplification. You need to take into account the operating overhead for the kind of paint arrangement you are considering. You will need to clean, disinfect, and make repairs after each lease. You are also thinking that you will have an ideal lease rate of 100 percent of the time, which I'd get it's unrealistic. You're probably more likely to get weekend lease. So, consider, it you are leading out the van 3 months of the year, and you mostly get 4 day weekend lease, you are likely to get a gross profit of $800. Now fair in the cost of cleaning, maintenance, disinfection, etc. You will probably spend $200-$300 on each lease, meaning your real profit is only $500-$600 per lease. Given you'll likely get 10-12 leases over your 3 month period, you are looking at something more like $6000-$7200/year, not $24,000.

Hello hello everyone! I know a lot of people are looking for affordable places to live and are willing to make sacrifices. But the one sacrifice you should not make is your safety. if you already have a safe place to stay and don’t have to look over your shoulder. then you should use that as a model For where you alway what to go. I’m going post a report with a link For anyone thinking about going to Mexico it’s a 👎. it’s is a beautiful place with great people but until the crime level goes down which is not happening anytime soon! Stay away!
