That is not a slow burn, that's you living your life and enjoying yourself ❤ at 37 your doing better than most people our age. Including myself, I'm 36 going on 37 and I still live at home with mother. I'm finally moving out of my childhood home and moving across the country from New York to L.A. To be with my fiance, I'm so ready for June to get here so I can get out of here!

my nan had my mum at 40 and they were the best of friends! it seems i’m not the only one who has this family experience… i think mamas who are older tend to be more adventurous, self-assured and fun loving due to taking things at their pace and trusting in their time for whatever to come!

My Granny had my mom at 40 and they had the most beautiful relationship. Plus I feel like my mom kept my Granny young and she lived a long and energetic life. You look great and I'm excited to see more of the home renovations! Sidenote: I will always be grateful for that one time you made time to have coffee with me in LA. Your ability to find community wherever you are is so beautiful and I'm so happy you're finding your mommy tribe out there as well

I can’t believe you popped up on my feed maybe 10 years ago? I just COULD NOT believe you were shaving your hair! That was such an emotional raw video for that era in time! But watching you has been like watching a big sister (only by 6 years) go through life and doing it shamelessly. From new york, to the old lovers, makeup videos, movie shoots, BTS videos, techy tutorials, what-I-eat-in-a-day’s, thrift and flips, renovations you have shown us IT ALL. It has been such a privilege 🙏🏽 you’re journey is incredible! Cheers to 40!! You win!!

I'm 34 and VERY slow burn. I don't have my life all figured out and every now and then I have panic and anxiety about it all then I get back on track. I've come to terms with the fact that life gets harder to live as we get older, it gets lonely a little, and less exciting. We have good time, it's not all gloomy, but yeah, life gets a little quiet and harder. We just have to push through the ups and downs and keep working hard to stay connected, have human interaction, and keep our mental health a priority!

I got my 1st home at 27 , thank God because I woorrked. My mom also got her first home, as a single mom at 27 too. She passed away at 39, how bleak. I can't help but feel sad sometimes knowing how many people probably felt jealous when she did buy it then but there was actually nothing to be jealous about. Her friends are in their 40s getting all the things she once had. They are blessed to be alive. Honestly this taught me the importance of celebrating eachother no matter what. There is no manual to life. So I am impressing me, because I know,I actually do not know time but I know me, my wants and what feels naturally to me. Now I can travel and have a nice warm bed to come home to. Honestly we should all move in the pace that feels naturally to us. We never know, stay true to yourself guys and be shameless. Actually that's what Maya is doing, living to the beat of her own drum. Do what will make you wake up and smile.

Hey Maya nothing wrong with being a slow burn lol. I have yet to buy my first house and I'm 45 lol. I've created a 3-year plan to make it happen but I'm all the way good with being a slow burn lol. I'm a writer as well and what I find helps me with me with my plans is actual planning. AS a writer, I need to write it down so I don't really do apps and such. It helps me to actually write it out and if I don't plan out my day which is essentially planning out my life then I'm all over the place and lost. I set aside time each evening to write out my plans for the next day. It may take time to develop the habit of daily planning but you'll definitely find yourself being able to establish routines again. Once I started doing this, I became much more productive.

You look great! I had no idea you was 40. I though you were way younger than me. You look so freaking good. I've been following you forever. Love you. Im a ftm of twins, 4th trimester is alot. My twins are everything too, consume practically all your thoughts. I started remembering I have a life outside of them about 8 months in...slowly getting back to me.

This video is sooo good 😊, gurl I missed your talks. I luv when u mentioned allowing life to unfold starting with good intentions & the feelings in place for yourself. I agree, it is a blessing how things can turn out even if it’s not how u planned it.

I’ve been watching for at least the last 6 years and every single video you put out inspires me endlessly. Sorry to hear about your worries with Jackie. I’m so glad your considering her the way you are. I don’t think I’d want a baba pulling at me in my old age either 😂 I think the distance is the best idea. I adopted my JRT in 2015 and I remember you gave me lots of great advice on terriers over in twitter. So glad to see you smiling and laughing girl x

Thank you for this video Maya! It's so real, raw and relatable. I had my son in the end of October 2021, so almost 4 months ago, and I can relate SO much to the 24/7 care of your little one and how time for anything else is more or less nonexistent. You're definitely not alone asking the question "how the heck does others do it?", because I've asked it oh so many times. It's beautiful and needed to see you show up like this, shamelessly, whenever you've been able to based on your current life situation. So excited that you brought up the potty-tunities because I'm really excited to start doing this with our son soon! I'm with you on the whole diaper situation, haha. Pls keep us updated on that! Looking forward to the video on how it's like living in Sweden since I'm Swedish myself. Ta hand om dig och familjen, och har ni någonsin vägarna förbi Norrbotten så hojta! Vore fint att ses.

I am a Slow burn as well. At 57, I still need to own a house. I bought my first car in 2020, after having used cars given to me by my father (after he bought my mother a new car, I would get her old ones). I am single, but I have my own business. I am shameless for sure. I am ready to learn French and relearn Spanish for 2022.

Ok, a mommy and wifey but you are still you, and don't you dare let you go. Your beauty, your energy, your spiciness, your inspiration and your love is very relevant and important to scores of people. And it is crystal clear that the reciprocal is also so true too. All of your magnificence is still intact and glowing. Start building the momentum to get lit lit again so you can share that light with the 1.2 mill. I'm positive that you can find the balance.

#slowburn gang lol. I have been following your journey from the beginning but started because I wanted some hair inspiration, but your journey has inspired so many different aspects of my life. I’m 32 and I’m tired of moving in a way to please everyone around me. It’s time to be shameless and move in a way that pleases myself, but more importantly God. I am so happy for you and how your higher power has worked in your life (in ways you couldn’t have predicted). This video just filled me with so much joy and hope and inspiration. I love you. Thank you.
