Coming from someone who has been on a college dance team and is a current coach of a dance team, I think it’s great for someone who has a platform of this magnitude to take people behind the scenes of college dance. It gives prospects an inside of what it’s like to be on a college dance team as well which is super important. It also gains their interest and could be a nice recruiting tool for the team. I’m sorry for how it ended for you. Wishing you the best. Your future is very bright!

Thank you for sharing this!! I completely agree and had the same thoughts as you. Even though my time with the team ended unfortunately, I think it happened for a reason and now it’s time to move onto bigger and better things. Wishing you ALL THE BEST with your coaching! I really respect you not just caving and taking things down. That shows great strength of character. Good luck this year. I’ll be continuing to support and follow you. Btw in case it helps, and just for that reason, I found the few videos where you and another person were trying to get people to do things and give responses (can’t recall the specifics) didn’t interest me as much as your other videos but that could just be me. I really enjoy your videos giving an insight into life at Harvard (incl dance), life in Boston, life w your fitness, and maybe an insight into your internship, and life generally. I really liked your idea and approach re thinking outside the square though. I wish you luck. Be confident. You’re wonderful. Xx

You have a lot of good things going on. If some sometimes don't go super well, it's understandable if you feel bad about it, but at the same time, it's a normal part of life... you are still such a successful person overall. I understand to some extent why things didn't go well with the dance team, and I also see why they wanted more control over what about them was posted online. I think there was a lack of communication and clear agreements. Both sides can and should learn from this experience.

Wishing you the best, Helen! Perhaps you could try doing reaction videos on other people's acceptances or reactions to videos you find interesting! I've been dancing ballet since 5, playing the piano since 4, and also did a LOT of theatre growing up so your stats/extracurricular video resonated with me. Reaction videos wouldn't take as much time (compared to a vlog) to film and you would be able to react about what you care about so others can also relate to you/know more about your passions. PS. I just came back from Boston and I absolutely loved the atmosphere! I wish I could have met you there, but its okay bc I made so many awesome friends it was bittersweet to come back to Canada: 🇨🇦

Hello, Helen. I just discovered you and watched your Harvard acceptance video. I love your personality and love seeing your growth as a student. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Harvard made the right decision to admit you and I can't wait to see what else is in store for you. You'll find your balance. Being a college and influencer is hard but I believe you can manage. Maybe you can set up a schedule just for uploading videos since uploading is similar to another job. Congratulations on your internship. I can't believe you're halfway done with school.

I don’t know if you realize, but your content really makes a positive difference to a lot of folks. You mentioned that two girls on the team auditioned because of your content - what you may not realize is how many hours of your content they probably watched and rewatched just dreaming of being a Harvard student and imagining what it will be like for them. I’m in the Extension School and when classes get hard - like this summer 😢 - it’s cool to watch videos like yours to feel a part of the college and the community. I am sorry that you feel down. I can imagine the sacrifice it takes to post high quality content AND be studying neuroscience at the best school on the planet while pursuing a super dope internship. BUT YOU ARE CRUSHING IT! 🎉

@@HelenPiltner oh. Well, sorry you've had to go through what you've gone through with this, but you've made an impact and a difference with your videos (allowing us to see and learn things about your college that we were curious about), and, often times, unfortunately, when people are doing great things, circumstances or other people will get in the way, but, that doesn't have to stop you completely from pursuing your interests and goals, and, often times too, those impediments actually lead to something greater (as long as you don't quit) and so it turns out that those people and circumstances will have HELPED you to achieve something greater (although in the short-term it may seem like a derailment and in the short-term we don't know yet what that something greater is, but it'll come, if you keep going).

from your undergraduate acceptance decision day to till the day following your video, I'm not an expert on youtube analytics, also you have not asked for help regarding your analytic, I'm very interested all of your videos, In my observation as a visitor my findings point that need to take care 1. maintain video published time, for example, every day or every week, or every month but same time-frequency, 2. Audience expectations, (by observing video watch time ) 3. You are interested in. another point research about keywords and little bitt knowledge about youtube SEO trends,

Hello Helen! Recently, I found an article from reuters and fox9 about the acceptance rate and racism. In a nutshell, applicants who have legacies with students that already graduated from uni, have up to 7 more chances to be approved. And the people that are at Harvard, In terms of their race, 70% are white and the rest is unknown. A 16 yo boy (me) wanted to Harvard, but I started to think that I don t have a single chance. Did someone from your Archaeological tree did go to Harvard before you? Is someone from ur family from Eastern Asia? Because you have asian face. And one more thing: You said that ur father is german, do you have any jew descent? And, please reply to this comment. :) Have a good day!

Helen, you're way too smart to be spending this much time on KZbin and creating a personal brand. You seem like you may want to pursue med school and be a professional. How do you think your supervisors at MGH will view all this time spent on KZbin. It sounds like you already dealing with the consequences of this with the dance team. You'll be successful without KZbin and being an influencer. Leave that for the masses. You can do KZbin later.
