I think this is my favorite video yet because it felt so raw, so authentic. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. IMHO you are a rock star of a mom. So organized, so loving to those babies, so adoring of your husband, etc. not many women would take on the task of driving back from Texas to Virginia by themselves with 2 babies in tow. Wow. You just keep on keeping on when most would not be able to do all that you do. And now, getting ready to renovate a bathroom! You are a beautiful gal, inside and out. Remember to go easy on yourself. God bless you!

Your twins boys are such a blessing and they do have each other to play with.

Your story sent me back in my memories of 1985-1989. My husband was on a fast attack submarine and was out to sea so many times. Our second child was born while he was out to sea. It made me stronger and all the more dependent on my Savior. He exited Navy life to become an electrician in a steel mill. Will be officially retired the first of April. Life is much sweeter with hubby around every day. And yes, we made it through all the deployments and are soon celebrating 39 years of marriage. What a sweet reunion you and your boys will have, one fine day!

I was JUST lookin at your shorts today to see if there was one about Leah moving out. I know it must’ve been hard, but you’re a strong mama. We’ve been a military family for 15+ years, and I can’t wait until my husband is done. You have so much to look forward to! I appreciate your videos so much. We had a few siblings live with us during the first part of my husband’s military career. It was so much easier to have them around. But eventually.,, they needed to grow up on their own. It was hard for me to let go of my younger siblings but they needed to move on and grow. I am not their mother. And that’s okay! Your videos helped me with our move OCONUS last year. Hang in there girl… you’re helping us military spouses!

People dont talk about these small adjustments and how much it impacts us. It always takes me few days to reset myself to new environment like with family or alone. Whats helped me is knowing that all I need to do is keep going and doing my daily chores and the feeling of displacement subsides eventually.. It took me around 4-5 years to acknowledge this feeling and i guess thats what we call growing up and learning.

I hope you do a long form video or maybe two of your bathroom. I love watching reno videos and you can always take bits from the long form and make short form videos. I’m not even sure why I ended up seeing your videos, but KZbin kept showing them to me and I would watch. Seeing you and your boys and the fact your husband is in the military is why I subscribed. Now I’m elderly, but a long time ago, I was in a similar space. During the Viet Nam action, my husband was in the USAF and went to Thailand for a year. I had one little boy and it was really hard. I missed his daddy so much and I felt stuck, because we didn’t know what the future would bring. He made the decision to stay in while he was gone and got a nice retention bonus. He was able to come home halfway through the PCS, so he was home for Christmas. He ended up staying in only 8 years and, looking back now, he should have stayed in. In any case, my best wishes for you, your boys and your husband. I hope you’re able to make the best decisions for you as a family. Hugs from a former military wife.

Your feelings and mental state over leaving family and going back home so far away from them is so valid. I’m a SAHM to 3 1/2 y/o identical twin boys living in SE Georgia, my family living in PA. Drove there myself with the boys for the holidays leaving my fiancé home since he can’t take off. The almost fear of going back home to being secluded, feeling the huge amount of guilt for taking the boys away from family full of cousins and loving aunts was SO HARD I kept pushing our trip back. Once we finally got here man did it feel good. Back into OUR space, OUR routine and the boys bounced back just fine. I feel so much better hearing someone else experienced the same exact feelings as me. Keep being strong 💙

But I focused on my kids, we made hour long trips to get donuts and milk, went to the park, did drives on rainy days and loved big. I had the kids picking their toys up at a young age, we’d have cleaning hour, helped me greatly. Your babies grow up fast. So wonderful your able to stay at home with them. I was a military kid too.

I completely understand how you feel being alone. You can still be close your family and still be alone…having small children is hard because your life completely changes… that is a transition you have to make. My best suggestion is to pray daily for strength, courage, opportunities, for you and your family…god always finds a way…talk him so he recognizes you and your family. And you always can talk to us. I enjoy your content and m very impressed that you are a really good mother who takes care of your home and children. Having kids is isolating because you want to protect them…I recognize that too. It will be worth it in the future as well as now. God bless you ❤❤❤…your fans will always be here.

I have never commented before, but as a mom to two year old twins myself, I so resonated with what you said about losing yourself after you had your babies. It’s hard to convey to anyone who doesn’t have multiples what a huge emotional shift occurs after welcoming twins. I too was blessed to have help early on with my mom moving in with us for a year or so when my mental health took a deep dive. That was truly a gift and helped to pull me back to myself as well. I also really appreciated you being so open and honest about how you were struggling because I think so many of us see you and think you have it all together when in reality you’re like the rest of us, just putting one foot in front of the other each day. Hang in there during this second half of deployment! 💛
