Ah my friend, but for memories of our young lives to fill us with love and sweetness as the years go by. With children, the days go so slowly. So slowly one would think time was as slow as a snail. Yet, the years speed past and leaves us nearly dizzy at the thought of how time flies. So quickly. Such speed. And time is not prejudice. It does not pick and choose the miles per hour. It does not pick who will be aware of it or oblivious to it. It comes for all and is both sad and joyous. Ah but for the memories of our childhood to make us weep and smile at the same time. My mother used to love to shop for plate sets. I remember she purchased a very large kitchen set and it had so many pieces. Even a gravy bowl, sugar bowl and creamer. So many things that reminded me of a little playhouse that was built for me. It was made of wood and had a door and two windows. My mother and father filled it with such love for me. There was a tiny square table made of wood which my father made and matching table cloth and tiny ruffled curtains that my mother sewed. For Christmas one year, I was about 5 years old, my parents gifted me with a beautiful porcelain tea set. It was white with painted flowers of pink on the little tea pot, cups and saucers. I loved this little home. I even was given a Easy Bake Oven and made all sorts of little muffins and cupcakes with it. My mother would sometimes make us something similar for breakfast. It was rice and omelet eggs with onions and cheese. I think after writing to you, I will make some. I haven't had this dish for what seems like decades. It's a good thing I have rice in the fridge. And after this, I will make a chocolate cake. I have the ingredients but not the red color. I have sprinkles though! So it will be just fine! I miss my mother, I miss her daily but it's not a sad memory. It's such a deep memory of how much my mother loved and adored me. I miss her, yes, and I love her more than any other. She filled my world with love, precious kindness and a way to make me feel as if I were a princess. After all these years of being without her, I realize a mother's love is everything. At my age, I remember it all and will never forget her. Thank you for giving so many gifts to me.

Hello Mel! My husband is back this week, and the autumn weather is sunny, so I'm late to reply because I've been wandering around. Thank you so much for sharing beautiful and nostalgic memories of your mother. I still have young and healthy parents, but I think that the time of parting will come someday as I get older. And when that time comes, I think I will miss everything that I normally exchanged with my mother now. I can't stop the flow of time, so I know that the only way I can do it is to spend the day without regrets. Today, after a long time, I have to tell my parents that I love you. Thanks Mel!
