So so beautiful! I’m obessed with Bernese Mountain dogs, in our country we said: Berner Sennen hond! I really love to see how much passion your mother has for these dogs! I would like to take over one of your puppies, but that is impossible from the Netherlands! Has it ever happened that people from other countries take over a puppy from your mother? When I have recovered from my back hernia we get a Bernese Mountain puppy from a local breeder!

Roughly how hot can they handle? In Celsius degrees. I live in Australia and I rarely see many BMT. I'm just wondering whether if it would be too hot if we adopted one.

They love to be outdoors and need plenty of exercise but do not handle heat well at all. They must have air conditioning in the home. They have a thick double coat and can overheat very easily and in a very short time, which can be fatal to them. Sorry, but hot Australia does not sound like the right place for a Bernese..... unless you have cold temps and snow somewhere there!

I would say it is very unethical to have a Berner in a hot climate. When it hits 70-75 F or ~23 C here in aspen they are already overheating. Despite that there might being breeders in the area doesn't make it right. I always tell people to put on their ski clothing and then go lay out in the sun when its 23 C.
