Went to a Chinese school and let me tell you: 听写 is absolute hell because you will do it from the start of Grade/Year 1 up until Grade/Year 6 in Chinese Government schools. My teacher would give my entire class in Grade 5 to remember ten sentences for 听写 , let's just say I failed most of them

This is one reason I'm glad that I grew up in England as have English as a native language. Don't get me wrong though, I love learning languages and I have studied Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Korean (so all different scripts), but my Chinese 听写 is atrocious 🤣
@rachelcookie3212 жыл бұрын
I wish I grew up with two languages. Even if I wasn’t great at one language, growing up learning multiple languages is really good for your development and knowing even a small amount of another language can be very useful. It’s easier to learn a language as a child too. Now I just have to struggle to learn as an adult.

I think these words are okay, but then there are the words that you recognize but will never remember how to write like 魑魅魍魉 😂 Learning Japanese now and I always forget the kanji because I’ll somehow confuse it with traditional Chinese.
