Hi Holly 🌸 You are so pretty in pink. I'm still loving the Illiyoon Ceramide Lotion, too. It's my main go-to for my face. I love the Cetaphil lotion, too. It's cost-effective and the petroleum is a nice occlusive. I mix it with aloe in warmer months for a lighter feel. I'm almost done with the Platinum Skincare Serum 15 you gifted me and amazed it only takes a bit to see a difference. I also use that Kirk's soap and witch hazel. This video was so informative. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. Is your kitty healing still? 🌸

If you have any other product recommendations, please let me know. I am sure I'd love them. And, thanks for asking about Kipper. He's doing much better and the ear has healed! It's a little less perfect looking, but it's alright and he's still healing.

@@LifeDIY So glad Kipper has healed, Holly. =) What a relief for you. For skin irritation after a peel or derma needling, I use Bactine spray. It's SO soothing and doesn't irritate my eyes at all. I'll add it to a spray bottle with some water and this toner, which is also soothing: PYUNKANG YUL Facial Essence Toner. I'll look into the GM toner--I've been using this one with a few drops of Salicylic acid (from The Ordinary): Neutrogena Skin Perfecting Daily Liquid Facial Exfoliant with 9% AHA/PHA Blend $13.42, 4 ounces, 20% discount w/S&S.

Hi Holly! I love your skincare videos and seeing your routine. I initially found you by searching microneedling. I'd like to look into the nanoneedling now. 😊 Have you ever tried microcurrent? That has helped me a lot, though it takes some time. On a side note, what do you use for the sound and lighting in your videos? They always sound and look great, and I'm trying to learn how to better mine, lol. I hope you don't mind my asking; you can give me Amazon links! ❤
@LifeDIY
@LifeDIY 11 ай бұрын
Thanks, Lauren! I've tried a mini microcurrent device but I didn't really stick with it. I need to pull it back out and give it a try. Do you think it's helping? Thanks for asking about the light and sound. In some of my videos I use my "good" dslr camera, and in this one and numerous other videos lately I have been using a DJI Pocket 2 because it's so quick to setup and easy to use & I like the quality too. I bought the DJI Pocket 2 that came with a wireless microphone, then I bought a Rode Lavalier Go mic to plug into it. These mics have great sound quality. I have most of the products linked to here: amzn.to/45kOLay. For lighting, it depends on where you're recording. But, lately I've been recording in a pretty well-lit room (from the window light)and have been using Govee LED lights, as they are not too large and give off beautiful light (lots of color options too). In some videos, my quality is a lot better, and in those videos I am using a Canon 70d or a Canon 90d. The 70d is a lot cheaper and they both make the videos look about the same. In this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3qmkKSDmddnmZo I use GVM studio lights as that room needs a lot more lighting and I was using a Canon 90d. :) I just noticed your latest video! I am going to check it out. You look beautiful! I think it would definitely help to have some brighter lighting in there. It can make such a difference. If you're just looking for a better microphone, I think the Rode Wireless Go II mics are excellent!

Hi Holly, very interesting video, thank you! Do you think the nano-needling might be okay for someone with very sensitive skin? Many thanks!
@LifeDIY
@LifeDIY 11 ай бұрын
Thank you! I think it would be totally fine if you're using the "daily" cartridges they sell. Those should not cause any issues at all from my experiences. I think it's still slightly possible that you could experience irritation with certain serums (like a vitamin C serum). So if it were me, I'd do the treatment but if there's any irritation, I'd use something more mild or even some avocado oil and hyaluronic acid.
@liviusss
@liviusss 11 ай бұрын
@@LifeDIY Thank you very much for all these details ❤️, really appreciate it! Yes I was thinking I could try the daily cartridge and start with using it once a week, followed by some repairing serum and not actives. Tomorrow I'm seeing my derm and want to ask about a professional treatment with Dr. Pen and exosomes which seems to have great results, and then I could maintain at home with nano-needling. Again many thanks, and enjoy your day!

If you have sensitive skin, make sure you scrutinize your sunscreen ingredients carefully. Butyloctyl salicylate is a salicylate, just like the chemical sunscreen octisalate (ethylhexyl salicylate). If you are sensitive or allergic to octisalate, you might run into the same issues with butyloctyl salicylate.

Hi Holly! Never heard of that Kirk's soap ...I will be trying that as well as the Good Molecules brand and that Illiyoon Ceramide cream. My question is will the Kirk;s soap remove makeup and sunscreen and does the ceramide cream absorb in fairly quickly? I absolutely can't stand a greasy feeling on my skin ... thank you in advance for your answer..
@LifeDIY
@LifeDIY 11 ай бұрын
Hey Melody! I feel like it does a decent job of removing makeup and sunscreen for me. I've read that since it's oil-based, it can help break down makeup and sunscreens quite well. I've found it to work well for me, but I don't wear a lot of makeup. I have also found it to be really useful when I do any type of chemical peel, even for the mild ones. The soap is so non-irritating that it's the only one I trust after a peel. Do you have oily skin? If so, you may not love the ceramide cream. I feel like it could work well with for normal to dry skin though. I don't feel that it's greasy at all. But, I have really dry skin though. To me the texture feels like a gel moisturizer in a way. If you have oily skin, it's possible you may not love it. They do sell another moisturizer that I feel absorbs quicker and would be better for normal to oily skin - it is this one: amzn.to/3qyxImD

I agree with Holly, the Illiyoon Cream isn't as heavy as the lotion. Sounds weird, but I find the lotion is more moisturizing. I have combo skin and it does not break out my face. It's super gentle and has no fragrance. I've used it for years (the lotion).

I am now almost 38 and did no skincare until mid 35, that was when I started seeing signs of aging. So I started to search for solutions and I found your very informative channel and website. Since you have great skin I'm very interested in getting some information from your past/current experiences! 😄 I asked if you still use microneedling because I bought one dr. Pen and your videos got me wondering what was the future of it haha I used it for the first time last weekend and did a 0.25 experiment to see how my face would react (it was very red but now everything seems fine). Anyway, I'd have a few questions like, what do you think after all this time of your experiences with microneedling, what are your new insights and tips, what other treatments you'd recommend for our age etc (I've read about some in your website actually). Anyway, just interested in the opinion of someone that has great skin and seems to tell the truth on the internet! Haha congrats 😘

The Glycolic peel photo really does show an impressive difference Holly! Would you say this is your best treatment, or is it a case of everything helps.? I think I was born with ‘hollow eyes’...😊Admire your candidness, but I don't think yours are noticeable at all. Totally empathise with your sleep issues…I’m only getting between 3 to 5 hours max through the night…It’s getting annoying, because I end up cat napping during the day, or worse still a deep sleep, which of course then ruins my night time sleep…Vicious circle! Do you also find yourself sleeping at inappropriate times during the day..?
@LifeDIY
@LifeDIY 11 ай бұрын
Thanks Joe! Yeah glycolic peels work if you do them regularly. I think TCA peels may give similar results but much faster (depends on your skin and how deep the lines are) but TCA peels hurt like crazy and require down time. So glycolic peels can be a great option! I hear ya about the hollow eyes. lol. Sorry to hear about your sleep issues too. This is really weird for me to have this. I used to always sleep so well until 7 or 7:30 sometimes. Now I'm waking up with super weird vivid dreams at 4 AM or 4:45 AM. I made a mistake of taking ashwaghanda last week and it made my issue way worse. I think I'll do a video on that. If you ever find a solution, let me know! I kind of thing it might just be a weird thing that happens this time of year for me. I think it's happened in the past like this. But, I need it to stop! I need about 8-9 hours of sleep a night! 🙏
@joebowieaddick
@joebowieaddick 11 ай бұрын
@@LifeDIY 8/9 hours is really good…Hopefully it’s just a passing phase for you Holly…So do you manage to avoid daytime naps when you have a lack of sleep at night.? I’m be happy with a straight 7 or 8…I think my issue is that I’m very active this time of year…Lots if gardening, golf, and walks. Maybe I just need to find a way of not nodding off early afternoon/evening.🤷‍♂️ On a different note…I recently purchased the Tresemme keratin smooth shampoo/conditioner. Been using it for about a month…Another great recommendation Holly. Thanks! Really noticed and felt a difference, even after the first use. I do alternate with another product…I find it best to mix it up, as hair products can mysteriously stop working for me...but so far so good. Do you still use it Holly..?
@liviusss
@liviusss 11 ай бұрын
Hi Joe, maybe the eye hollows are caused by the lack of sleep? I sympathise because I also have trouble sleeping, I always did, but now the dark circles are really starting to bother me. I want to talk to my derm about doing some PRF (Plasma Rich Fibrins) treatments (Dr. Rajani here on YT is a big proponent of it for the under eye area), and maybe some microneedling/mesotherapy with exosomes (another in-office procedure). For hollowness some people have had good results with a cream called Adipeau which is supposed to stimulate fat cells, it might be worth a shot since it's non invasive...
