Today I am sharing what I got my 6 kids for Christmas and how much we spent on it all. We always seek to shop on a budget but this year it was extra important that we keep things low cost due to the rise in costs. I hope this will inspire you and give you ideas on how to shop on a budget yourself.

Total respect for you. We find brand new games, jigsaws, books and toys in thrift stores and its the best way to shop. Watching vulgar videos at Christmas with kids opening over 50 presents each to me is outrageous even if you have the budget. One kid actually said I'm bored now. Kids need to appreciate money and more importantly be humble and not spoiled. Great video. Your children will be grounded and appreciate everything they get later in life. Great mum, well done ❤

One idea to consider if any of the kids really miss the matching PJs - craft stores run some good sales on blank t-shirts every couple of weeks, and day after thanksgiving will have 40-50-60% off coupons. So you cld buy blank matching t shirts in all sizes, and a set of acrylic or fabric paint, and have the artsier members of the family make matching Christmas shirts and or PJ tops!

You could do Christmas socks which is still a way to take a cute matching picture but is much more affordable than pj's , another idea is a special Christmas mug for each kid ( 2-5 dollars at Ross or the dollar tree even).

Love the 3D printer gift ideas! My husband has made gifts for our kids and nephews in the past and it’s always a hit. He made puzzle toys, fidget toys, little puzzle containers, a snoopy for my daughter, Mario brothers stuff for my son, a cool water bottle holder for my son’s bunk bed, cute little taco holders that look like trucks… He’s designed some things himself with an app on his iPad which takes more time but most things he finds on Thingaverse.

I can't believe how many people are losing their minds over this. These gifts are thoughtful, quality and great. We do our gifts on epiphany, the twelfth day of the christmas season, Jan 6, to celebrate the wise men giving gifts of gold, francicnse and myrrh. So our kids get a want (gold), religious (francinsense) often a book or artwork, and myrrh something for the body. This year they will get fun ski masks so hopefully they will play outside more in the winter. They are always very happy. One gift they love is worth exponentially more than a pile they like or don't care about. We do also do Christmas jammies, cocoa night, movie nights during advent. Christmas day we will go to mass and do a puzzle and snuggle up and watch movies, eat favorite foods and go for a family walk. They have loved that every year! 🤷‍♀️

We got on sale two different truck sets for my boys(ages 5½, and 2) and got another princess Barbie doll for my girl (age 3½). My older son really needed something that the other two aren't going to be fighting to play with, and so we are also going to set up a retropi that we've had in storage for a few years. We're going to make sure it has a lot of the fun games that we had when we were young. My Mom used to be a children's librarian, and she always makes sure that the kids have books. My mom and I did get fabric this last spring to make Christmas pajamas, but my parents have been moving, and I've been going through some health issues so we will probably forgo Christmas pajamas. When my mom was my age she was given a doll pattern bought by her grandmother and it has become a Christmas tradition in our family for all the girls to have a doll made from that. So if I have extra energy to devote to sewing I will probably make my daughter one of those Laura wheeler dolls

Love these ideas! This is how I shop as well, finding deals through the year. Have you seen those little hearing aid charms? I've been debating on those for my daughter. I don't know much about 3D printing, but I have access to one through my library... do you think I could 3D print the charms? Or maybe just the pendants and get the rest of what I'd need at a craft store? Hmm... just kinda thinking "out loud" here I guess.

I’m a SAHM of 9 😜. I got the little ones matching pjs at Carter’s for $6 a set, but this year I am skipping the bigger kids, my husband, and I. We have ours from last year and other pjs. That’s not rude at all 🥰 so we have told our kids from the time they were little that if they go looking for their gifts and try to find out what there getting then we will have to take the items back. So far that has kept the curiousness at bay lol 😂. My kids don’t watch my channel and there not allowed on KZbin without permission so it hasn’t been an issue but they do know that I made this video and they do joke that 20K people know what there getting lol.

Great video! I like that you jumped right in to share. You told us a bit of info, and that was great to hear about the deals you got, but without a half hour of commentary. I really enjoy this kind of video, but don't have time for so much commentary, and too many talk so much, that I end up clicking off of the video. I just like seeing what people get. I'm not saying that to belittle anyone, but wanted to say how much I enjoyed that you jumped right in!

I’m the same way I have adhd and have the attention span of a fly lol 😂 so I make my videos the way I like them mostly bc I don’t have enough attention to edit long videos 😂 all that to say thank you for the compliment and glad you enjoyed it

@@LifeintheMundane Oh my goodness, I have it as well, was diagnosed as an adult. It's great to meet someone who gets it! Thank you for that..sometimes it's easy to feel alone when dealing with that. I'm actually a teacher, and could easily spot it at times in my students, but truthfully if it's all you've ever known, you just find ways to adjust, and you don't realize that everyone's mind doesn't operate the same way.

@@LifeintheMundane I was also diagnosed just a few years ago. We've made adjustments all of our lives for the things that were normal to us, not realizing that we don't function the same as others. It's so nice to meet someone who truly gets it.!

I like to do 2-3 gifts max, I just rather one but Then I see things they might love! I spend about $30 per kid. We have so many people gift them gifts. My parents, my in-laws, sisters, brother, my aunts. They end up with about 15 new gifts each. It’s so fun but then we have so many toys! 😅

Thanks for this video I love it! 😊❤️♥️ It's the day after Christmas and I love watching videos about what people got for themselves and each other for Christmas day but I dislike the ones where people buy loads of presents, and get really expensive ones. Because I use to do that every year 😞 I use to buy 20-30 presents and waste loads of money only for my child not to remember what I got him each previous year because he was so overwhelmed, and it just built up clutter and I wasted so much money. And he got greedy, ungrateful and spoilt my own fault cos I was giving him too much. And I use to buy 10+ presents for the adults. But the past two years and this year I have cut it right down to 5 presents each. And done the 5 gift rule of getting something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read and something to do. And this year my child was much more appreciative and grateful infact he was amazingly kind and thankful and I didn't spend as much and there was less clutter and waste and each present felt more thoughtful. It felt like my child really took the time to look and appreciate each present instead of throwing it to the side to grab another..so I know I made the right choice. I also put the presents in Christmas gift bags instead of wrapping paper this year so I can reuse them next year. And instead of stockings I did Christmas themed boxes filled with small items with the same rule of something they want, need,read, eat and to do. And it felt more treasured by them. And the boxes can be used again next year aswell. But I like this video because it assures me that less is more. You got your kids a few presents each and they are such wonderful presents! ❤️ Such thought and care has gone into each one. You have done amazing!! And I hope you had a lovely Christmas ❤️

I miss the days of clearance toys. My 11 year old daughter is a gamer and I’m probably over $1200 already. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ I do go overboard on holidays though. I said we weren’t doing anything for our 5 mo old son and he already has a closet full of Christmas presents. I knew better when I said it and so did his dad lol. I’ll probably save some for his birthday. Those are amazing deals!

My daughter wanted nerf guns for Christmas. Those can be expensive but luckily I found some ones on clearance! Also found a resealed bag of 70 count of the bullets in the clearance section for 50% off there was 64 bullets in the bag when I got home! I also found a bag of 39 bullets for 1.99 at goodwill they were definitely used but who cares!! I always shop clearance when I can!!

We decided not to do matching Christmas Pajamas this year, it’s just too expensive. I still have us all opening up plaid pajamas on Christmas Eve. I bought mine and my husbands at a thrift store, two kids got the cheap plaid pants from Walmart, and 2 kids are going to wear ones we already owned and I set them aside a while ago. So we will all be kind of matching, but I spent under $30 for all six pairs.

I spend $250 on each of my kids ( just a personal choice) I only have 2 kids tho lol but I'm like you I don't buy meaningless things like I don't buy a bunch of small toys they get enough of that on birthdays lol I get them some new clothes, books, a fun activity toy that their learning but don't realize it, puzzles, books, movies that I know they will enjoy and watch more than once, stuff to draw with, their own new personal cup just for them, and one big gift usually something they can share like last year they got a electric car and this year they will get a trampoline.
