I’m not a huge fan of the list. Not all of these are bad, but I think you need to add a few. Five Rings by Musashi, Hakagure, subject books on Statistics/Probability, and subject books on logic. Bible is generally a good idea. Aristotle and Plato. What I generally find most lacking is the most important thing you absolutely need to not be a slave - the skills that allow you to *think* and do a good job of it.

This worked for me so this is my GIFT to you and anyone reading this.. These suggestions have made me the person I am today. So take one or two or all of them and transform yourself to a super being. Thank me later. I personally did and do everything listed below and I got massive results. 1. Write out a statement of your Short Term Goal AND your Chief Aim/Main Goal... on a "goal card" or paper. 2. Write it out 50 times a day for 30 days preferably around the same time each day. After the 30 days, you go back and write it out ONCE a day. This is your compass in life. 3. Set your phone alarm to go off every 3 hours (to disrupt your daily routine) and when it goes off write down your statement and then close your eyes and see yourself with your goal for 2 mins. 4. Record your statement in your voice on a voice recorder on your phone, and play it back to yourself on loop while you sleep and as often as you can daily, example... in the shower or when you are using the rest room. 5. Find an accountability partner. If you cannot find someone, then you MUST write out your statement DAILY. By doing this you make yourself accountable to YOURSELF. 6. Find a community or FB group/group chat, etc and from that community form a Mastermind with one or two people who have studied from REAL Mentors and are giving VALUE. There is a "Law of Giving" and many people are using it. Andrew Carnegie told Napoleon Hill this back in the early 1900s. Its a LAW and it works. Its what I am doing with this post. 7. Auto-Suggest (Think and Grow Rich Chapter 4) to yourself in front of the mirror in the bathroom at least twice a day. Look directly INTO your eyes OR one eye and recite your WRITTEN statement. Then splash cold water on your face. This sudden shock seals the thought into the subconscious due to emotional and physical shock from the cold water. 8. Write out ten "I AM" statements a day. example. I AM happy, I AM more confident. Use the word MORE; implying you already have it, but want more. You trick the brain. 9. Write out 5 things you HAVE that you are grateful for and 5 things that you are grateful for that are coming to you. Mix up the list one after the other. 10. When in public tell people you see that you love them in your mind. Simply say "I LOVE YOU" to them as you pass them, especially when driving, because their subconscious hears and FEELS the intention. Say it to about 10 to 15 people daily. This increases your Good Karma. It might seem like a lot. But it took me less than two weeks to incorporate the list into my life and 32 days later I started getting massive results. What have you got to lose, try some or ALL and see your results. Let me know know too. Have a great day... and thanks for reading.

My reservation is How to Win Friends and Influence People. There is wisdom in it but I found the text to treat relationships as transactional and only to make friends for their use. Honor is the standard a person holds themselves to, which is why many persons have no honor. Do your best and build experiences with those you would trust your wife and children alone for many days with.

I found the book to be the opposite of that actually. I thought that the book was going to be about manipulating people and being transactional but my take away was much different. One of the best books I've ever read I'm so grateful my grandfather gave it to me. I've bought so many copies for people.

I'll be your grandpa right now. First - Type everything out always. Don't use this shorthand and emoji BS. It's lazy and builds bad habits that will only harm you in the professional world. Also, people will not take you seriously. So use full words and sentences moving forwards. Always. Second - Quit whining about what you don't have. The only person you need is yourself. So dig deep and find true strength within. But within that dichotomy you will need others, so attract the right ones with your newfound self strength, your compassion/love, but don't ever let them get too close. It's good to open your heart and to love openly, but that's not the world we live in. You also need a network, so get out there and talk and network with high earners. If you don't know any, find some local business/real estate investor meetups. Don't "fake it till you make it". Be authentic there, let people know where you are in life but also what you aspire to be. Let them know you are there to learn and grow. Third - ALWAYS be honest and dependable. Do what you say you're going to do. ALWAYS follow through. This will put you ahead of 99% of people because they are lazy. Now go out there and get some, grandson/granddaughter

Even if not religious, I would recommend the Bible. If not all of it, specifically Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy because there are concepts written there that very wealthy Jews still attribute to their current wealth and successes. I would also recommend Proverbs because a lot of what you’ll read in books on Stoicism can be found in Proverbs which also touches on partnerships, business endeavors, wealth distribution, and behavior as it relates to family, strangers, business, etc..

I just finish the Meditations by Marcus Aurilius. Is a powerful book that teaches important lessons on how to handle life's challenges. The philosophy in the book reminds me that everything is temporary, and we are only here on earth for a short time. Because of this, it’s not worth chasing after fame or glory. Instead, we should focus on being good and honest people. The book doesn’t talk much about what happens after death but instead guides us on how to live with strong values in this life. It’s a great read for anyone who wants to live a meaningful life by following the right principles. Going for the next book now.

1. Good to see Stoics like Marcus Aurelius and Seneca on this book list, but don't forget Epictetus who in my opinion is pound for pound the best of the Stoics. 😎 2. Same goes for seeing "dark night of the soul" men like St. John of the Cross, but I'd bring in others like Dostoevsky as well. Especially his two most famous novels, The Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment. And Dostoevsky's own life reads like an over-the-top tale of tremendous suffering and woe, even though it is completely true. He was born and grew up in a hospital for the poor; his father was murdered; Dostoevsky was arrested and almost executed but got an 11th hour reprieve from the tsar (literally after he was already tied and facing the firing squad); instead he was sent to Siberia for something like a decade of his life; his wife died; one of his children, his favorite son named Alyosha, fell off a balcony as a toddler and died (and note in his stories how he often named the good characters Alyosha and the bad Fyodor); Dostoevsky struggled with alcoholism for much of his life; and he had epilepsy for his entire life. There's much more to say but this should be sufficient to show Dostoevsky didn't have an easy life to put it mildly. 3. Finally I'd add perennial classic books like some books of the Bible. Such as the book of Job which is all about a righteous man enduring terrible suffering. And my favorite biblical book Ecclesiastes which is perhaps the most philosophical and existential book in the entire biblical collection. Ecclesiastes is (among many other things) a commentary on living life in an unfair and indeed evil world. What gain or profit is there, what rhyme or reason, in living a good life "under the sun"? Or simply in trying to make something of ourselves and build a life for ourselves, when all is fleeting and futile and enigmatic? When we are mere mists or puffs of air that are here for a little while then gone forever? Most of us will eventually die and be forgotten, just as countless millions if not billions before us have died and been forgotten. As Roy Batty put it in the film Blade Runner: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. Ecclesiastes seeks to answer these kinds of questions and much more. As such, it is worth reading and pondering and wrestling with over a lifetime if need be.
