I went with the e310 because it was the only one that had the container size that I needed out of the gate. It would be great if Vitamix let you buy the machine and pick out your own wet container size. Now that would be genius and very helpful. Love your videos!

Great video and helped cement my desire for the Vitamix that I bought yesterday at the Texas State Fair. My only regret is that I did not but through LifeIsNoYoke as they obviously have put a lot of time and energy into helping others who want a Vitamix or already have one. Best deal is the V1200 made for Costco. Its part of the Acsent series, its identical to the A3500 in everything but aesthetics, and I prefer actual dials and toggle over touch screen, given thats one more thing to go wrong and wear out and the pulse is more responsive on a toggle than the touch screen. But since they are identical on the app, and I'm an app kind of user, that was my choice. The noise difference is negligible, and I dont care about the steel housing. Its 350.00 cheaper than the A3500 and performs identically.

@nakkadu3 жыл бұрын
I was the same then I bought one. Of course the quality is great but save your money. It's really difficult to get anything thick from under the blade, and the lid is awful, hard to get on and off with no pour spout. I have no idea why this guy says the blade being fixed makes it easy to clean....it's literally the opposite! Other blenders do the same job for half the price....easier to clean and less waste.
@nakkadu3 жыл бұрын
@@tanshievlogs well I've still got the Vitamix but my daughter uses the little nutribullet for preference! I haven't used others but for fruits and veggies I'm sure any good quality blender will be perfect. I'd go for one that's easy to clean. This is a really helpful video. I am in the UK and I have just ordered the Ascent 2500 which is due to come on Monday (day after tomorrow). I decided on this one after several hours of comparing different models and reading various reviews and comparisons, and came to the conclusion it would meet all my needs without going over the top. I loved the top of the range one but in the end decided it wasn’t worth the price as the extra electronic wizardry was something I could live without. Then, having put in my order, I found this video, and was very pleased to have all my thoughts confirmed! I am buying this Vitamix to replace another high-speed blender which has died on me. I decided not to go with a similar replacement because they don’t offer half the accessories. I already own a Vitamix under-blade scraper and that is absolutely brilliant - highly recommended. One reason I chose this particular Vitamix was that one day I may get the food processor attachment, and I really like the idea of the dry grinding to do one’s own flour - most intriguing. I live a whole-food plant-based lifestyle and a high-speed blender is an essential piece of kit for me, in daily use, so it needs to be reliable. Thanks for all the good advice on your videos.

Have you been happy with your vitamix after 9 months? I'm thinking of going the same device for similar reasons, trying to decide if the next model up is worth it or if most people are happy with the slightly lower one.
@ShoshiPlatypus3 жыл бұрын
@@jkff2472 Interesting question - thanks! Happy to share my experience with you. I had my 2500 for a very short time (got it from Amazon) and it developed an electrical fault and kept tripping the main switch so I sent it back and got a refund. The reason I didn’t go for the top of the range one at the time was that Amazon was charging silly money for it. In the meantime I discovered it was better to get it direct from Vitamix because Amazon can have them hanging around for months in their warehouses and ordering direct means you get the latest manufacture (there’s a date on it somewhere) which means the latest firmware etc. Maybe really subtle differences between machines with the same model number but worth considering. I went on their website and found the 3500 - yes, more than I had paid for the 2500 but nothing like as expensive as Amazon, so I bought it. I have never regretted it for a single moment. I am really glad the 2500 went wrong, or I’d never have thought of getting the 3500. The added advantage of being able to set the timer before you begin blending is a huge bonus, as is the self-clean feature. The touch screen is great, and gives a nice smooth surface for easy cleaning. I absolutely love my machine and use it several times a day. I also bought the cup/bowl accessory set (also in frequent use) and the best accessory of all, the under-blade scraper, which I think should come with it as standard! This machine is utterly awesome and I don’t know how I lived without it! I would definitely recommend spending the extra money and getting the 3500. You won’t regret it. BTW I have no financial interest in Vitamix - just a more than satisfied customer. Having used both, the 3500 is definitely worth it. It’s the most expensive of my counter-top machines but I have found it essential for the whole-food plant-based lifestyle. Totally awesome machine. I hope this helps.

@@ShoshiPlatypus Thank you so much for responding, that was super helpful and I really appreciate it. I am vegan and will be using it an awful lot as well, and want to make the best choice for such an expensive investment. Thank you again, cheers!

@@jkff2472 You’re more than welcome! I think you will be as thrilled with it as I am. I make almond milk, and also a rehydration/electrolyte drink daily as I have an ileostomy and have to make sure I don’t get dehydrated. I sweeten most things with dates or bananas and the Vitamix is super-useful for that. I also make loads of different soups. I’m not a great lover of smoothies but I do make smoothie bowls and use it to top my overnight oats/chia breakfast. I first got interested in nutrition as a result of my bowel cancer in 2015 after having ulcerative colitis all my adult life - I joined a stoma forum and it was on there that I first heard about the Vitamix. I couldn’t afford one at the time and bought a different high speed blender which wasn’t half as good but it served its purpose for a few years. In the early days I was worried about obstructions and not being able to eat certain things but I can eat anything now. Some people get problems with very fibrous foods and a high speed blender helps you get these without the risk. It was only later that I realised how much more useful and versatile this machine could be. Some helpful KZbin channels you might enjoy: Blending with Henry (love this guy - he’s really fun!), LifeIsNoYoke (great Vitamix channel), Simnett Nutrition (great for recipes and lifestyle), Nutmeg Notebook, Pick Up Limes and Chef AJ - all have great recipes and health info. It was Chef AJ who really got me going on the WFPB lifestyle although I’d given up meat by that time. To begin with I thought she was super-extreme with her no-oil cooking but I’m now doing most of what she does and it doesn’t seem so extreme now! She has awesome guests on her channel and it was through her that I discovered Forks Over Knives - if you haven’t seen this film it’s absolutely brilliant. Available on their website (shame they took it off Netflix). I learnt about the various medical giants in this field - Drs Esselstyn and Campbell, and Dr Michael Greger to name a few. Other great films are What the Health, PurePlant Nation and The Game Changers - some on KZbin, also Netflix. Cowspiracy and Seaspiracy are also must-watch for vegans! So much deception and misinformation going on in the world because of big bucks, big pharma and big ag. Embarking on this journey I never thought I’d learn all this stuff! It’s been quite an adventure. Put another comment on here if and when you get your Vitamix and let us know how you get on with it. Have fun! Shoshi

@@ShoshiPlatypus Thank you! Those are my favourite documentaries! I know some of those channels and have a few books by those people, but not all and there's always more to learn. I recently found Rainbow Plant Life, which is similar to Pick Up Limes. I cannot believe at times how much my views around this have changed. I've been vegan for 6 years now, and it started with me trying to find a way to combat constant heartburn and a general decline in health at the time. Due to a change in circumstances over the past year, I had stopped eating more whole food meals with a focus on nutrition, and started opting more for a lot of bread and rather processed vegan foods. Unsurprisingly things went downhill and now that I'm able, I want to get back on track. Thank you again for sharing some of your story here and so happy eating this way is working really well for you. My father almost died from cancer of the esophagus, had never been a smoker but suffered from chronic heartburn all his life and was told this contributed. I think I truly needed to hear that and take the plunge with a vitamix sooner rather than later.

Very watchable video. I came from a Ninja to an Explorian E310. Never looked back. Ok, it’s the cheapest with the least features but there is a thing called a stopwatch! However, I do like to drool over the Ascent A3500i. But when you said the E310 is best for single users, that made me smile, because I am. Thank you for the blog.
@MrBritishComedy Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't feel like the newer models with more features are necessarily better than the more classic models, reason being that the newer models have containers that are wider at the base. The tall narrow container in the "OG" 5200 model - which the e310 seems to come with a shorter version of - make sure that a great vortex is created inside the container that always sucks everything towards the blades. Some independent tests have shown that in the same amount of time ingredients are blended to a smoother consistency in these more narrow containers. Now you may ask why Vitamix started developing wider containers in the first place? Well, that is because a lot of people complained that they can't store the tall containers in their cupboards, but they still wanted to keep the same volume.

I will be getting an A2500 in a year or so when I move out due to the three program settings and the versatility of container options for future use. We have had what is now a Legacy model for about 20 years (my entire childhood) and it is the single most used appliance in the kitchen even more than our crockpot. Still runs almost as well as when it was new and showing no signs of dying. The cost is a bit much if you impulse purchase but 100% worth it if you plan for it. I love that they have the food processor attachment now and want one so I can make slaw and other foods that hand cutting or using a mandolin is just too much work for.

I had the regret and the sting from buying a used vitamix on facebook market. It was a 5200 for 160, and looked pretty clean, and for the first two blends it was amazing and i felt like i joined the vitamix cult. 3rd blend the blades stopped spinning, because i didnt notice this, but it was a knockoff container, and the drive socket wore away at the base of the blade, making them lose their connection. So i had to invest in a real container, meaning that i essentially payed 300 for a used vitamix without a warranty. Its amazing. but i regret not just spending the extra money for the peace of mind. Especially since i live in cleveland anyway lol.

Coming from a guy that has no ties or interest in any blenders. I can tell you I live in a household that has a Vitamix, Ninja, and Hamilton Beach blenders. I have used all of them many times. The Vitamix and Ninja are both 1400 W, I believe and the HB is much lower. For regular smoothies, crushing ice and amateur cooking stuff, save your money and skip a vitamix. Don't get me wrong, they are nice, but for the above, not worth the money. I always grab the ninja, because the blade comes out and it is easier to clean. In the video, the guy says the blade gets dull? Not here, yet. If it does, buy another, maybe three more and you're still cheaper than the Vitamix. The HB blender even does the same job. It just takes longer. Instead of jamming the stick in the Vitamix, use a wooden spoon h the HB. Again, not bashing the Vitamix, it IS awesome, but if you are pondering how much it costs, the Ninja does just as good of a job.

The only problem I had with Vitamix was milling dry grains. I mill all my own flour and Vitamix heats my flour to much and it loses nutrition when that happens. So what I did to fix that problem is I bought a Mockmill. What Vitamix is good at is milling wet or oily grains which you can't do with a stone grinder.
@GlennaVan Жыл бұрын
Keep your grains frozen until you are ready to mill. That should solve the heating issue as well as keeping the grains fresher and more flavorful. I absolutely love my milling bowl and am so disappointed the supply "train" is making it so difficult to get whole grains right now - the flavor difference is deliciously noticeable!

I’m sick of my magic Bullet single serve, always misses a piece of frozen fruit and hardly blend my flaxseeds. I’m on a budget, so I can’t afford a down payment for a car on a Vitamix haha- definitely looking into the certified refurbished! Thanks!

My A3500 was the best "non-essential" purchase I've ever made. No regrets.

Hi. hope your family is safe and well. I have very seriously bad IBS and I was wondering would buying vitamix help. to be honest I've had it for 28 years and pain is something else.cheers oh I'm from ENGLAND.
@marknorris37693 жыл бұрын
absolutely yes it can help , the reconditioned a2300 is all you need , all of that other x you don't need , just combine veganism with blending , talk to your vegan friends , if you need ideas let me know

You do great reviews and cover a lot, thank you so much. You didn't mention the 5300, which I have my eye on at Sam's Club. Have you heard anything about it, is it just an upgrade to the 5200?

I just found your videos. The name reminds me of "Vitameatavegemin" I just ordered one on amazon. I didn't think about direct. I hope mine is fresh enough... hehe.

How’d you discover the Vitamix before buying?
@scorpionleader19673 жыл бұрын
@@LINY I was watching a video on the Nutribullet, and he said he wished he could afford a Vitamix. So my investigation began a couple days ago.

I got the Vitamix from Amazon today. Had to send it back. Vitamix didn't have the serial number in the database. There might be a harmless explanation, but I can't keep a product I can't register. It was likely a fake Vitamix. I used you're link to buy the new one DIRECT. Thanks for having that available. A3500 by the way.

I got a new 5200 on sale direct from Vitamix for $300.00. I’ve had it replaced once and the motor is making alarming sounds again. It’s still under warranty and Vitamix customer service has been excellent. I’m stumped because the hardest thing I’ve ever blended was ice in smoothies or frozen berries. The longest I’ve ever blended is a minute and a half making oat flour out of rolled oats. I see Vitamix everywhere in grocery store cafés, restaurants, and juice bars getting used all day long making just about everything and they look just fine. I peeked over at one at a juice bar and it is a Vita Prep 3 which has a 3hp motor. Which is more than the 5200 I have. What’s the most hardcore thing you’ve ever put in your A3500? Have you had any trouble with it?

Hey there. Great compare/review. I’m mostly looking to do smoothies (both fruit/veg, fresh and frozen). I also want to do protein shakes while adding in some other stuff like raw oats, maybe some cacao nibs. Will the vitamix be able to get thru the cacao nibs? I would love to be able to make my own nut butters (no more buying it lol), nut milk (like almond milk). I’m not going to be making any soups or salsa’s etc..that’s why idk if i can justify spending $550 on the recon a3500. I love the features it has though. I don’t necessarily need all the fancy stuff but i do like it and having options like walking away from it. I found a pro 750 actually for $50 less then the recon a3500. I need to research that one more. I’ve been watching some comparison vids. Majority of ppl in my juicing group recommended vitamix to me, a few others said blendtec, and a couple said nutribullet and ninja. I def do NOT want a ninja ( due to reviews). The nutribullet RX appealed to me but reviews are consistent w/ the pitchers needing replacement due to leaking and also seals issues (which is also an issue w/ the ninja). Blendtec reconditioned is cheaper then vitamix but they are super loud! Vitamix does make a vacuum style blender too but way out of my budget range. I was also recommended Kuvings v1000 vacuum blender - this one and also their 500 vacuum model appealed to me big time but the consistency of the smoothie looks soupy and fibrous - like it needs to be strained compared to the blenders. I did like the consistency of the nutribullet Rex but am i gonna be able to do cacao nibs in it ya know. I’m still on the hunt but your video helped me very much - ty. Big thumbs up

Trying to decide between the a3500 and pro 750. Seems people like the pro 750 more and they have even a better rating on Amazon Canada. The venturist has a low rating on Costco Canada 🤷🏼♀️ I don't prefer all the tech, I am a basic person, we had the 5200 originally and loved it. Just started having issues 17 years later. I hate to say buy to it. It seems the Pro 750 is the upgrade to it and people love it. So seems like it may be the one I go with. Thanks for all the info.

Awesome video mate. I recently bought a Vitamix and god it is great. No regrets at all. Tip, my friend has the Ninja and it’s garbage compared to the Vitamix, which he agreed!

hey @lifeisnoyoke - I love your videos! I recently got a vitamix and am hooked to your videos! Excellent stuff! I had a quick question though. The driver socket on my vitamix is moving around. Is that expected?
@LINY3 жыл бұрын
A little bit of movement is normal, but lots of jerking around isn't

@@LINY thank you! I have a friend who also got a vitamix recently. I will check with her to make sure it's similar. It'll be great to see what you mean by a little if you ever get a chance in an faq video or something.
