Update on the pizza dough: if you only use one sheet like we did do not wrap it in clingfilm as it goes a bit soggy and is very hard to unroll. Next time we will unroll the second bit onto a sheet of greaseproof paper and roll it up in that so it cannot stick to itself. Then you can seal it in some cling film 👍

Indeed life is too short! Our retirement plans were to tour Europe in our caravan,alas my husband didn’t even make it to retirement. But given the diagnosis ( motor neurone disease) we hastily bought a campervan and spent two great months touring the south of France, so at least he did get to at least partially fulfil his dreams. Now, I use his mobility van as a small camper and live for the both of us. Live your life whilst you can for you never know how long you will have a life to live.

Life is indeed too short. My father was still driving at 101, and friends used to tell me that I had his strong genes. I retired early in 2019, thinking I had 40 years of healthy and active life ahead of me. Within two months I had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Every day counts now - time is incredibly precious and we should never take it for granted..

Life is indeed too short Ken. I was the youngest child of 7 children. I’m now the only one left. One sister died aged 58 one was 63 the others made it to 70 ish. I’m now 70, it obviously concerns me but not obsessively so (I don’t think :) Me & my husband have no children but have a very comfortable life. We love going away regularly on short trips and stay in some of the best hotels enjoying fine food. As you say we all have to make the most of the time we have Ken. Very sorry to hear about your Sister and Brother inlaw. Very sad, but wise words. we have to make the most of our lives and looking back the time has flown. No amount of money can buy experience good or bad. I would not change a thing. My experience has formed the person I have become/ becoming! The same is for everyone. Some profound statements in your video. "The secret to success is to never give up". Over the years I have pushed myself, often on long distance hikes. I've walked a few now, and some big ones. Its now April 28th. Your reference to not going too far because of Covid. I believe 'stay local' was guidance, not the law. PS. I bought the tongs for our camper after seeing yours. I am also deliberating about the DJI Mini 2 - what do you reckon?
@LifeistooshortCK3 жыл бұрын
The mini 2 has been great. It can’t track you well but I don’t really need that. Love how small it is and that it charges from a USB port not mains. 👍

Great video! Can't go wrong with allllll the food 😁 Our ridgemonkey is a saucepan on one side and grill pan on the other.... Confusing. Have you tried putting a 'dead cat' on your microphone?

Hi Sarah. We do have dead cats on the mics and they seem to work well in the wind. I had the settings wrong on them so only one was being picked up. My fault. 👍 Not long now to a bit of freedom

Thanks for inspiring us to bite the bullet and hopefully have some retirement adventures too. 🙂

We are no experts at cooking so definitely give it a go. We are so glad we tried the pizza, it was delicious and we had the rest for lunch today 😁 Sounds like you will be getting your camper just in time for when the restrictions are eased in April. Wishing you lots of happy and safe travels 🙂👍

That was attached by Sussex Campervans so I don’t have details of what they used. They are quite easy to source online and they just glue onto the van I believe.

Ken i love the noise you make when you taste good food! Sounds like 'umm ooooo'. I wonder if you were married a long time ago or if you are a more recent couple, you are very close and loving. Another wonder is, here in NZ we pronounce Covid as coh-vid. Is the way you pronounce it as Ko-vid a UK way or does it depend on where you come from in the UK

@LifeistooshortCK3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the videos. We use LPG for cooking as well as heating. When we last filled up the gas in December it had lasted 26 nights.
@1968kcc3 жыл бұрын
Thank you What is the size of the LPG tank if wild camping in the hills of Scotland and heating is used 24/7 in sub zero temperature. How many days do you think it lasts. Is the heat pump driven by 12V from battery and is the leisure battery can last 2 or 3 days running 24/7
@LifeistooshortCK3 жыл бұрын
@@1968kcc the LPG tank capacity is 9 litres. 24/7 with cooking as well in subzero I reckon about a week but that is a pure guess as we have not tried that yet. The pump needs a 12v supply to run and that needs to be above a certain voltage for it to actually switch on. I am aware of a lady in a similar van who was having troubles as her battery was getting too low. We have a lithium leisure battery which is much easier to recharge either by solar or running the engine for a bit so we have never even come close to running out of power. I think it would be harder without that lithium battery.

hell'o and thank you for the video! i would like to ask at time 3:48 charlie brown is cutting the veggies, how long and wide is that overhead opening? and how many feet is it starting from the front walking to the rear until the canvas touches the top of your head? i'm leaning on a small transit connect or ?? but need the headroom . thank you
@LifeistooshortCK2 жыл бұрын
The opening of the pop top roof is: length 135cm x width 97cm (53”x 38”). Standing up and walking towards the rear of the van our heads never touch the roof (we are both 5’ 10”). The floor space from passenger seat to rear bench is 100cm (39.5”).

Just one other comment, I would never presume to contradict an ex-copper but the official stay at home legal requirement ends on March 29th, not April 12th. Advice remains to minimise travel right through step 2. So I guess the ability to get out and about more, depends on interpretation of the easing regulations.
@LifeistooshortCK3 жыл бұрын
It is a grey area and open to interpretation. From 29th March the number of journeys should still be minimised so I guess travelling for pleasure would be frowned upon.

Always wondered; does the water in the corners of those kettles get hot ? Who makes the tubes of Pizza dough, is it Pillsbury? My wife always uses bananas that are past their best in all flavours of cake as a ‘moistener’. Muddy but worthwhile walk. I have been suffering from sciatica for about 6 weeks, just got back to walking a couple of miles a day and damaged my Achilles’ tendon backing out of my Bongo side door yesterday, back to square one. Great vlog. Carpe diem. Regards from Gosport. AJ

Sadly life is too short, I was the full time carer for my mother until she passed away last year and I had a lot of things planned like your late sister and brother-in-law we had just replaced the main workhorse in 2019 so that I could get her out more (sadly she only got to go in it four times before covid hit) planning touring holidays in Scotland covid put paid to that idea. Friends are telling me to take time for myself now (after thirteen years as her carer ten full time) once I finished dealing with everything I have been looking at either getting a caravan or campervan only issue I have is where do I store them when not in use (shared drive) another option a explorer tent (fitted on roof rack sadly takes four to fit). Been in contact via KZbin with a company in Korea who convert the Ssangyong Musso pickup truck into a campervan sadly their reply was in Korean unable to translate if I can get something would start touring UK then go further afield following your example.

Talking about your relatives dying early and ' life is too short 'as a title brought back home to me how life should be lived in the here and now. My first wife of 15 years died of cevical cancer at 38. We had two young boys of 9 and 12 at the time. It was a completely life changing event for all of us, that you never get over, you just learn to live with. I am re-married and all my children from both partners have grown up now. It brings it all back with how these anti vaxers go on with covid, when I know that if my wife had been given the chance of a cevical cancer virus vaccine like the young girls of today, she would still be with us now. So get out, live life to the full and in the end die with no regrets.
