I’ve installed Lifeproof and other similar flooring and I always recommend the Lifeproof. It is by far easier, locks positively and is very durable. Another product I installed was scratched horribly the day he moved in by friends moving furniture! Installation tips: use a jigsaw for heat/AC vents and use a piece of scrap as a tapping block! Works better than an actual tapping block!

Any advice on wether you should use an underlayer with the Lifeproof? The warranty is voided if you use one, but the video insists on it. I installed lifeproof in my bathroom and am now worried because I didn't use an extra underlayer.

the interlocking can break off if you are rough with it, ive installed about 1500 sq feet and i probably fucked up 3 full boards in total when trying to install it in different difficult circumstances, but given that i think i only messed up about $30-40 worth of stuff out of $4500 worth of flooring, the stuff truly is durable and very nice, and has many options for homes. there are enough tutorials to see how to do just about any installation you need if you search enough. home depot does give a military discount on this, but you have to order it through the store and not online

I install this product for Home Depot in a daily basis. You definitely need a rubber mallet and a tapping block. You can cut it with a utility knife but with the heavy duty blades. You need to scoar it at least 2-3 times before you try to snap it.

@@josenegrete3694 yes it usually runs between $2.49- $3.10ft. If you’re getting it from Home Depot definitely go with the life proof brand it is hands down the best and nicest they sell. Very durable also and well made. I’m concerned, I wanted the lifeproof sterling oak. I thought it had a 12mm wear layer but now I just noticed it’s only a 6mm with ceramic bead. I don’t know what ceramic bead means but This concerns me with the thinner wear layer. Also I was looking at the Mohawk tybee island since I can get it at a good price on clearance. Thought Mohawk was good but many reviews say the seams come apart

The vinyl is easy to scratch with dark color. Mine was dark grayish. That color he used is there a lie till really want to see the scratches with that color. But the color I bought it is becoming a problem how is it scratches. Also call the company and told them I’m already seen some scratches before the guys are almost finish with insulation. Told him also I have dogs are their nails going to scratch the floor easily. I was told it’s longer keep their nails short. It shouldn’t be that easy to scratch the floor even with the dog nails that are not cut. I would probably buy the product again in a different color that wouldn’t show scratches so easy and due to the fact that it’s vinyl and I have animals and it’ll be great in bathrooms and kitchen areas. I like the fact that it’s waterproof. I would’ve liked the efged to be rounded for a nicer finish

I'm about to install Lifeproof for a friend. It's currently $3.29/sqft here near Houston, TX. I installed the same flooring in his old house a few years ago. His wife likes it so much that i'm going to install the same exact flooring in their new house. This flooring is multi-width, meaning it has 3 different widths. In the old house, I did full rows of each width. Since then, I've seen that they show installing a 'large' width, then a 'medium' + 'small' (together since that equals a 'large') in the same row? Is there an advantage to doing it one way versus the other, or is just personal preference?

The best way to up keep any vinyl plank is to get a light duty vacuum not a broom and always vacuum before you mop it. I have vinyl plank in my whole house including steps and I always vacuum it never sweep it. If you mop without vacuuming it what happen is all that fine dirt and sand will break down and work it’s way into the seams over time and start to separate.

Thanks for the video. I found Alpine Backwoods Oak Multi-width at Home Depot it says it's 6.5 mm thick and a 6 mil wear layer for $3.39 sq/ft with a limited lifetime residential warranty. I like the 3 different size boards and multi-color board look but is the 6 mil just to small or do they do something special to their wear layer that makes them more scratch resistance than say a 12 mil layer? Also I thought about buying 2 different finishes from the same product line so I can have more different looking boards so they don't repeat. Is this a good idea? I thought about combining Alpine Backwoods Oak and Distressed Wood together to do my floor. Also do you know if the latching system on the Home Depot line Woodland and Heritage are any good?
