I installed a ton of angle to angle flooring and I think it's much better than the tap and lock. I find the best way to install it is to connect the ends together first and connect them together as a very long plank. I used the off cuts from my first row to lock the joints together (I think I got that idea from your videos). I did a 12 x 14 room by myself with no problems. Edit: This was the first room I did this way, but I had done several locking the individual planks together the way the instructions said and it was a royal pain.

About the praying - I understand that you believe you are doing us a kindness, and for that I thank you. Thanks for the insight.. I never understood the point of the moisture barrier under the floors if it's going on top of concrete and that's going to sweat. Isn't that going to create some form of mold buildup over time, how is that any better than a padded back piece just sitting on the slab? I like the idea of the fiber backed barrier as that makes much more sense to me. However, since this will have rolling chair on it, I do worry the extra cushion will cause eventual breakage in the drop and lock system. Any additional thoughts here would be much appreciated.

Thank you for this! QUESTION: If I have to leave the 1972 vinyl sheet in place because of asbestos, can I use levelling cement on top of the old vinyl sheet (uneven plywood subfloor), then put down the Quiet Walk LV, then the new rigid core SPC vinyl plank with attached foam pad flooring on top? I am concerned the vinyl will bubble up with suction (as it dries) under the levelling cement and destroy the vinyl seal that encapsulates the asbestos backing, and create a crumbly concrete mess under the underlayment. I am also concerned the Quiet Walk LV underlayment will be too slippery on top of the smooth vinyl and will bunch up under the planks. What are your thoughts for putting rigid core SPC flooring on top of old uneven vinyl flooring that can't come out?

Question, I stripped carpet out of the master bedroom of our property we purchased and the padding was turning to dust. My question would be would you recommend stripping the glue off, or putting an extra pad down. It's a concert floor and I am struggling with getting the glue scrapped up. In some areas it's thin like a piece of paper but other areas seem to be thicker. I am wondering if you would strip the glue and put waterproof flooring down, or would you just strip the glue and paint the concrete floor. Also the master bathroom had the same carpeting do I need to strip the glue off the plywood before installing either linoleum or or waterproof flooring? 1:17 FYI, 3M Box Lock Packing Tape is 100% the BEST clear packing tape you can buy. It sticks to anything, especially boxes and similar cardboard type products. It also sticks well on plastic totes, plastic drop cloths/drapes whatever ya call it in area) but remember this…..if mess up when taping plastic (say window for painting) w/ this tape; NOT GONNA PEEL OFF & allow to start over like others, give up, cut out mistake and continue, as it’s THAT GOOD. So, if using clear packing tape that’s my recommendation. Also think Ramboard seam tape is best in class for this situation and works good on “cardboard type materials and plastic masking products only, imo”. The last tape I’d go with, Tuck Tape. Yep, stuff used for vap/air barrier install for siding and insulation, as well as, tinting windows as won’t hurt vinyl/leather interior and sticks well to plastic masking, etc…. Personally, duct tape (not the silver foil duct tape) but duck tape, isn’t that great and most of time peels off, especially if gets wet, imo. So, I’d go with the other 3 options first before I’d use duck tape. But hey , this my opinion and preference, and you have yours….so as always, do what works for you, but don’t be hesitant to try other methods Cheers✌🏻

Curious on whether you would use a pad when installing over an existing tile and vinyl plank floor? I'll be using a cork-backed core luxury vinyl plank from Floor and Decor - what I've read is you need that stiff cork back to go over tile so grout lines don't bleed through - but do I also need some sort of pad? Hi Joe, I’m preparing to install laminate planks to replace 3/4” hardwood on the second floor that’s outdated. Do you think I should rip out the HW first? The HW is in every room, hallway and stair case down to first. We recently installed tiles in the upstairs bathroom at level with the old HW (maybe there’s a 1/8”-1/16” higher difference). If I rip out the HW I would need to install another subfloor. So should I leave the HW and install on top? If so they’ll be a lip to the bathroom. The laminate is 12 mm (not quite 1/2”). It’s my dilemma right now lol. Also the HW cracks a lot. So I’ll need to nail it in everywhere like you did to prep it. Do you have a video where you install laminate in a staircase?
