I see where this guy is coming from. It only takes one harmful microbe, bacteria or parasite to get you sick. Say there are 3 million bacteria in the water you're about to drink and this removes 99.9999% of it, there would still be 3 left. Doesn't sound like a lot, but only one of them needs to be harmful. But still it's a very reliable filter and I don't think there's any out there that filter 100% of bacteria.

Water isn't even prone to exploding if you expose it to overly high temperatures. And last time I checked cooking food was a thing that happens. That's all the energy you need.

I get that it could save you from dying of thirst and all, but being able to drink muddy water, and wanting to drink from muddy water is two different things. Like, I could drink muddy water, doesn't mean I want to, the taste would make me hate doing so. But having the ability to have no taste of the mud is something that would make me prefer it. Where am I going with this? Idk.
