I'm a retired optician and it sounds to me like you may have been over wearing your contacts and the doctor may have told you to give your eyes a break by wearing glasses for a while. But whether it was your own idea to give your eyes a break or the advise from your doctor giving your eyes a break is always a good idea. Wearing contacts is really hard on the eyes if they are over used and nearly everyone over wears them. Have you ever wondered why it's so necessary that you must get your eyes examined every year before reordering your contacts but you dodn't aren't required to go every year if you only wear glasses? Many people often continue wearing the same glasses for 2 - 3 and even 4 years before they get their eyes examined for new glasses. You would never be able to go that long with contacts. Yes in part the reason is to check your vision to see if you need an increase in your contacts, but the bigger reason is so the doctor can keep a much closer look at the health of your eyes. If in fact you were told by your doctor to limit the use of our contacts that means your eyes aren't as healthy as they should be. I highly suggest that you leave contacts off for a good while before wearing them again and even then limit the use of them to less than 8 hours a day and wearing them no more than 5 days a week. Trust me as an optician I saw some really nasty things caused by over wearing or abusing the use of contacts. Everything from eye infections to eye ulcers and even cases where blood vessels were growing into the eyes all caused by contact use and abuse. Enough on that. Your new glasses look very nice on you. They go very well with your hair color and they have slight bit of a "cat-eye" style which I happen to like in glasses. Being a Versace frame i'm not surprised that they look good. You're clearly a very attractive young woman and you honestly look every bit as attractive wearing glasses. I would even go so far as to say they seem to add a bit of sexiness to your looks. It was really smart of you to get a very nice pair of prescription sunglasses to go along with your glasses. That way you don't have any reason to want to wear contacts. Over the years I was constantly being told by, mostly women, patients that the reason they preferred wearing contacts was because they didn't have and couldn't afford to have prescription sunglasses. So they wore contacts so they could wear non-prescription sunglasses. Many people can't afford to have regular glasses, prescription sunglasses and contacts all in their current prescription and then a year or so have to replace all 3 because their prescription changed. So you will be able to switch from your glasses to your rx sunglasses and still look amazing all the while. With both pairs of glasses being designer frames i'm sure they were quite expensive. Insurance probably only paid a small part of the cost and the rest came out of your pocket. Something I became aware of back in my working days was a number of really good on line sites for glasses. There are a number of them that offer good quality glasses that aren't designer brands but still very nice for as low as $6.95 including single vision lenses. But if you prefer designer frames there are some sites that offer them as well at a much cheaper price than a local store. You may want to check out "Glasses USA" and "Clearly Contacts" because they both offer designer named glasses for about 1/3 of what they sell for at a local store. For example about a week ago I was helping a friend and she was wanting a pair of Ray-Ban Clubmaster glasses in her prescription. I found what she wanted in the Clearly Contacts site for $140.00 and that included lens in her prescription and she loves them. The same glasses at a local store were over $400.00. Please don't ever feel any less attractive because you're wearing glasses because you're clearly not.

Hi Jim. I am actually in Optomery School and also work as an optician. I do not over wear my contacts, but thank you for your concern!

@@TheVivaDiva Thank you for your reply. Do you mind me asking what year you're in? If I had been younger when I first became an optician I would have applied to go to optometry school. But at the time I was in debt with buying a house and car etc. I do regret not being able to do it though so i'm very happy for you. Over the years I had several young opticians working for me that were in optometry school like you're doing. I'm sure that you have already found it a nice benefit being an optician because it is helpful with school as well. Being an optician i'm sure that you are well aware of the things I mentioned to you that can be caused by contacts. So i'm sorry for lecturing you like that. But my intentions were well intended. When working do you generally wear glasses or contacts? I'm asking that because the company I worked for had a rule that every one was required to wear glasses while working even if they didn't need glasses. The idea was to encourage sales of the newest styles in frames. Everyone was allowed new glasses every 6 months not including glasses received from sales reps. Needless to say the ones that didn't need glasses usually hated being required to wear glasses they didn't need but they were told when they were hired. The ones that needed glasses were fine with it of course.
