Appreciate you doing videos like this. Melodies are still my weak area and I'm trying to break the habit of just reaching for MIDI (though it's hard to not grab your new one. Lol.) so I can get better at making my own and feeling confident in em. Plus I feel it'll help me get faster at finishing beats instead of playing around with melodies forever, then finally giving up and going through way too many MIDI melodies to find something that half way matches what I'm going for.

@@LifeStyleDidIt For sure! Definitely needa get better at sitting down everyday just to make samples/loops to get better with my melodies instead of always tryna make a full beat. Then once I get it down and am consistently happy with what I make, use my practice loops to make full beats.

Man, this video comes at the perfect time. I'm struggling a lot for months to come up with melodies and such, I really want to make Rod Wave type beats but till now I just cannot make it happen. This tutorial is really helpfull!

Brilliant and useful video as always. One thing I struggle understanding is what ive read is the 6th chords is Minor, in this case D, which you begun your chord progression with. But you made it major. Ofc in minor it doesnt fit in the progression, but my question is how do you know when to go for the major-minor change. Thank you!

I was in a Minor scale. The 6th degree in a minor scale (builds a major chord). The 6th degree in a Major scale (builds a minor chord).
