Wise words from Dean there, I've been living off grid here in Somerset for a while now and as Dean says it can be hard work at times, however the benefits far out way the cons, and yes, muddy winters!! Excellent vid thanks for posting.

I was a ' New Age Traveller', I hate labeling, in the early 90's and it was a magnificent free lifestyle, lived with horse and cart for a couple of those years and now after being back in a house for the last 20 years, which I've hated, I am ready to go back off grid to a happier and healthier lifestyle.

Great blog l too have started reducing my energy from the greedy suppliers. All though l don't live in the sticks l still feel you can still live a off grid essistance , I've have chickens and ducks for their eggs and a little veg patch. I've installed a solar panel which now supplys my lights through out my house, and l also have 2 wood burners to heat my home and also cook from them too. My aim in the coming months is to start to collect rain water and increase my solar panels.

Its not really possible for me to live the off grid dream, but reducing all the crap in ones life for me is most important, been at it for years and making great advances but its not easy and quite a struggle, but so uplifting when the crap heap gets significantly smaller

Our transition to living off grid is a long one and we have started by removing all the unwanted useless crap we all seem to gather. It really makes such a difference.

Thank you for your videos. I've yearned to live a self sufficient and sustainable life for over ten years. Although the costs are far less than a conventional house, raising the circa £50k for land and a suitable tiny house still seems far out of reach, especially when the traditional mortgage route is not an option. I often wonder if a business loan would be a viable option but I doubt that somehow 😂. Can you remained any resources to help?
@DJ-uk5mm3 жыл бұрын
Find a farmer offer him free Labour doe 15 hrs per week in return for rent free piece of land on which you can park a static caravan and create a garden for your veg and chickens - no planning permission required as you’ll be a farm worker. Many farmers would snap your hand off if you are a grafter…. And you could do more hrs in autum around harvest then have time off in winter and spring to go travelling etc

As a young Englishman I aspire to live this life! The problem being I have a mental "faculty" in that I am rendered catatonic and an anxious wreck most days because of all the overstimulation- I am in the cusp of the modern draconian machine it feels, where the trees and forests are receding into the lifeless concrete- I am somewhat minimalistic in that I hardly use water, and don't use no heating and eat very basic- I am asking for help really, in that I'd like to know in advice how I'd go about this to conquer this crippling anxiety to switch of from modernity (I'm not consumed by it in terms of its pretentious trinkets) I just want to pursuit a fulfilling life, a life that seems natural to me and sure to many of you here and also one that embodies how are ancestors lived close to nature. How do I go about making the first steps to this goal ? Thank you any help would be appreciated :) BTW great channel and really down to earth people you have on your videos cheers
@snowflakemelter11725 жыл бұрын
He's not mentioned that you cannot just buy land and live on it in the UK , you need planning permission and you won't get it it if you have changed the use of the land from agricultural or woodland to residential.

Unsold auction lots. I Have orders for tiny home builds but no workshop space for me yet. Thank you.

I hate being a slave to my employer and the tax man who takes a weeks wages off my pittance of a paypacket every single month. Planning law in this country is out of date and out of touch and appears to do everything it can to prevent anyone from living an alternative lifestyle and becoming truly independent.

i believe that a 'hot spot' will give you cell phone without cable. Once you disconnect from mass-media TV and engage your brain you begin to think more clearly on your own. Not to get in your business, but why is your face so red?
