I was lucky to have this video to assemble this shed. Your manual should have the parts identified with a number or letters.
@LifetimeProductsAssembly

There is a visual I.D. of every part in the manual, and some of the larger pieces have measurements associated with them. Each part is not labeled individually since stickers would increase manufacturing costs, which would raise the sales price. This is why we recommend having the assembly manual on hand as you watch the video and complete the build.

@@LifetimeProductsAssemblyThis video wouldn’t be needed if you had properly labeled parts, and “cost cutting” is no excuse not to put $1 worth of plain white printed stickers on there. You can have machines do it, or just pay a guy $20/hr to put stickers on parts, it would take less than an hour. Then you can raise the cost of these things by $25 and you just made $4 more for each one, and hired someone at a livable wage while you did it, and you raised the price by a negligible amount. Stickers aren’t expensive, this company is either cost cutting to give investors and the ceo more pay, or is flat broke and can’t even afford stickers. Either way I’m recommending everyone to stay away from lifetime products until they can label things instead of making me watch a video to build a plastic shed.

Well, I gave this project my best shot and put the shed together (60079). I wish everything went together as smoothly as this video, but installing the doors was not good. Neither set of doors closes smoothly, and on the side gable, I literally had to pound the pieces together just to get it mounted correctly. It's a nice shed, and I do like it, but even as meticulous as I was, parts didn't fit together as easily as depicted here.

49:19 so much easier to build by using this video. Took two of us about ten hours. It does require some muscle especially with the roof. Definitely bring a mallet because some holes don’t align with plastic, but some hits with the malette do the job. I’m a few cases we had to drill holes when the existing holes didn’t quite match. A concrete slab is highly recommended . Naturally he makes it look easier than it is, but it’s not a bad process. You will need your helper almost all the time.

I am a 5'2" grandma and due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to put this shed up completely by myself. It took me almost week and the shutters still aren't on, but it's really a great shed and I am very happy with it. Very well engineered. I got this one as a coop for my growing flock of guineas and would absolutely buy another one for the garden stuff that's taking over the shop. Happy building!

@@LifetimeProductsAssembly Assembly went very well. I would've finished faster but I was fighting a bad stretch of wind and weather. I will say again that it's _very_ well engineered and assembly is no problem at all. It was actually an enjoyable project when I wasn't cursing the wind, haha. It's holding up extremely well, not a single leak from driving rain or snow load. My guineas are safe and secure from the weather and predators, and I honestly couldn't be happier with this shed. 💜

i'm having a concern over the roof caps. When securing the screws that screw them together(not to the truss). We realized after that the screws went right through to the other side(outer roof). We are concerned now that rain will be able to get into these holes. When we went up on a ladder it appears they went through on every one of the roof caps. We confirmed we were using the proper ADZ screws

I don't know how you've been selling 60079 for so long and not noticed that AGY (104) corner panel, which needs to go next to the right door on the end, is not marked for the holes for the shutter. It doesn't matter much if the end doors are on the right, but when they're on the left, this panel has no markings. I literally had to make a masking and drill the holes from the outside.

This video is VERY good and helpful....but there are details in the process, that could be just mentioned. Putting this together was NOT like a breeze. We are very good with tools and DIY projects of all kinds. The floor was troublesome and required 3 of us to push and hold.... the walls, didn't just fall in place, the roof.... we had to make things work. What I mean is... that how it looks in this video..... is NOT the experience we had! LOL By the way, one of the floor ends was defective (did not align with nothing and was 1/2 inch short)... and it took 3 weeks to receive a replacement, 4 phone calls and they even canceled the request for the defective panel! Mine is taking more than 6 hours to complete. This video is outstanding, but I'm amazed at how easily things go together here and in real life is NOT a breeze. Overall.....looks very pretty, but I would have made it with wood much faster and cheaper.

What is the purpose of using the short screws for some of the truss braces instead of using one long bolt? Just for added frustration?
@LifetimeProductsAssembly
@LifetimeProductsAssembly 4 ай бұрын
The reason we use short pan screws in the truss assembly is so that the roof panels can seat into the truss channels all the way. If there was a bolt going through to the other side, the roof panels wouldn't seat into place.

There is a lot of design errors with this shed. Many of the screws are too short and do not grab. But the biggest is the plastic cups that the door rods sit in. In the video they go in no problem. Well, because he's building it on a concrete floor. If you are placing this shed on ANYTHING other than concrete pads (either tile or a whole pad) it WILL NOT WORK. I laid a compacted base for the shed to sit on. When you pound the door rods in, those cups the rods sit in just sinks into the ground. Now it is virtually impossible to ever set the door correctly. Also, the curved gable end above the door, it doesn't fasten to anything! Also extremely hard to get set. (Unless you are building it on a nice, level concrete pad. Also because of the above issue, the rods not properly placed.

@@missmiller7829 Agreed. I found the gable above the door just couldn’t all meet up. Again it deals with those rods so Hmmmm? But I finally had to just let it go. I grabbed some screws from the hardware store for the roof panels. But beware (!) to long and you’ll go right through the roof. Ask be how I know. Lifetime replied to me pretty much saying you should have known to build it on a solid base so it’s not our problem. Interesting how their instructions say that at #11 and not 1. I knew to gave a level base to begin with, but a complete framed AND paneled base? Come on.
@baca-no-ch3wb542
@baca-no-ch3wb542 Жыл бұрын
I had so many issues and it stemmed from not an insanely perfect level base. The biggest being the doors and the gable not reaching. Close the doors and put a bolt or something through your lock holes. Run a ratchet strap/tie down around the doors and walls going through the windows. Pull them tight to get the gable to reach the roof rails Once you’re there you can mallet down the gable and begin tightening everything. Hope this makes sense and helps. I did this one on my own, and had to get creative with straps to get things to line up nicely.

Our sheds are weather resistant, but not water tight or water proof. Water can get between the seams of the roof panels which is then collected by the truss channel and drained outside the shed.

Sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with the assembly process. @@TherikVanen Yup, mine too! I installed mine late last summer and had to duck tape the doors closed all winter. We tried today to get them more aligned and the doors close now, but they'll never be flush like they're suppose to be. Also the metal parts on the top and bottom of the left doors that are suppose to secure them to the foundation suck. They are so hard to move up and down. The shed looks good but I hate it because of the door design is terrible.

Don’t try to put this together in your rainy season bc this will delay you and the pieces will get muddy/full of leaves. Too hot and the pieces will warp bad if taken out of the box and set against a tree. The roof pieces have pilot holes but they don’t line up well with the metal struts or the wall pieces. That’s the reason the guy in the video uses an electric drill. I’m 6’1” but my husband is 5’6” so I dont know how we’re going to get the top roof pieces in and skylights. We’ll both have to use ladders. I’ve been using drills saws hammers and screw driver my entire life growing up on a farm and in my work every day for 30 years but it’s a chore putting this together especially at 65. The roof pieces slide easily so someone has to hold them down firmly while you search for a hole that actually lines up and do a couple of those at least. Also, You really do need a carpenters belt for this project bc looking for a hammer to hammer pieces together all the time and then a screwdriver to clean out the hanging plastic chads then your electric screwdriver and screws takes a lot of time. You can’t do it without looking at the videos either.

The best telling part about how great the instructions are is when the manual and this video say "slide this part over the door, but FIRST put this inside." It's not "Put this inside, then slide this over the door panel." So funny the video doesn't correct that from the manual, just repeats it.

Shouldn’t be this difficult but it is bc the parts aren’t labeled. Takes longer than it should bc of this. Pictures are too small and not detailed enough for assembly so you need the video
