MG definitely has a Winner ton hand. It's a terrific package offer to own an EV Car. Safe money & save environment. All the best Mr. Jindal & Mr. Rajeev. Job well done. It certainly going to be Run for the Money for Tiago, Nexon, Punch, EVs
@MrKhabbu3 ай бұрын
It is too early to say this. Few things are worth knowing 1) You are paying much higher price for the body of the car. 2) Life Time Warranty on battery is only for the First Owner . In other words it is Non Transferable. 3) Free Charging is only for first year of service. After that you have to pay. 4) You are still paying 3.50 rupees per Km for actual running of the car . In other words more you run more you pay. 5) Buy back at 60% means you have to sell it back to company only. 6) Batteries ownership is always with the company This is not a new concept but inspired by similar scheme by Mahindra 20 plus years ago. Where in you lease a battery and pay on monthly basis . Tata Tiago base and mid models are available at 8.99 lakhs to 10 lakhs and with battery included . So due diligence is required to make a decision.

MG is not sharing the detailed information around this Lifetime warranty and the battery EMI, need clarity on the following: 1) The so called "maintenance contract" amount to avail the lifetime warranty? 2) Any minimum monthly amount for the battery rental that has to be paid even if you dont drive your MG vehicle?

First and foremost catch is that the Lifetime Warranty is only available for the First Owner and is Non Transferable . Of course there will be a minimum charge per month and even if it is not there still 3.50 rupees per Km is a substantial amount you pay for the running. After First year charging will not be free.

Do you have any written steps to handle/ dispose safely old used batteries to save environment. Any report on pollution checks while manufacturing batteries ??
@MrKhabbu3 ай бұрын
One line instruction just handover the old battery to the company. In reality these batteries are differently made. They are made of individual cells and not all the cells go wrong at a time . The bad ones can be replaced and battery is again new . The bad cells can be recycled by having authorized or designated collection centers which in turn can assimilate them at one place and recycle it . These batteries after they have degraded to less than 80% can be very well used in household power storage in replacement of lead acid batteries or inverters or generators or UPC . With or without Solar panels which means life time use .

Please go 2 steps deeper and you will know the real meaning of the offer. The base price of the vehicle at 9.99 lakhs without batteries is high. Only one year is free charging. If you drive 30,000 kilometers per year you will end up paying 1,05,000 rupees per year and for 1,60,000 kms you will pay 5,60,000. And at 30,000 kms per year it will take you 5.33333 years to complete 1,60,000 kilometers.

You can't say that EV is enviornment friedly. The waste disposal will be an issue. Also the battery import will be from China, and there you are encouraging your enemy to grow. This particular brand MG is also a Chinese brand. And overall, the reliability is less. Had the same car were from Suzuki, Indians would have accepted it with four hands. They are not saying what is the full price of battery. Typically in a finance option there are four factors. Your Principal, interest, tenure and rate of interest. In this case the EMI is based on usage, as against time in any other leasing. Almost 99% of public are poor in financing arithemetics. So they get confused and a bad reputation will come to MG for this. Wishing them all the best

There used to be issues like network issues, but with the increasing number of charging stations those issues have almost become negligible. Number of charging stations have become 5x on main highways I drive. So, I don't think any honest EV adoptor will ever complain about EVs. Infact, I am thinking to purchase only EV in future.
