The first Hoya looks to be a Hoya Pubicalyx 'Royal Hawaiian Purple'. Their leaves grow in a very deep, beautiful purple. :) Good find!

You are the best plant shopper out there and I've been getting out of breath right along with you, girl. You are such a treat for us and we all love to see the plants with you and admire them from afar. I would have loved that full hindu rope but it would be a nightmare cleaning those leaves if it had a pest.....ugh! But they are so beautiful to look at though. Always wanted one :)) Crazy to see it at a box store especially in the dead of winter. Looking forward seeing what Michigan brings you since I'm in Ohio and we just don't get the plants that others get. But in all fairness, I haven't gone to any of the stores in a couple of months. Thanks for always being the joy of living to us in cold climates :))

My local Lowe’s had quite a bit of plants a couple of days ago but the all looked half dead. We had a hard freeze in Tx and although the plants were inside…I think they needed a good watering. I did find a Hoya at Walmart can’t remember the name to save my life rn. I get to go to one of my favorite greenhouses and specialty shoppes tomorrow with my daughter, she’ll be home mid morning. Your Home Depot had some great succulents, I might go check out ours to see what they’ve got. It’s just amazing to see the amount of plants your big box shop carries…my local ones are about 1/2 if I’m lucky.

I am loving the new Urban Jungle planters. They are absolutely gorgeous. I bought a beautiful snake plant today for $24. I think it was well worth it considering the quality of the planter on it's own!

A few days ago, I found a big, beautiful Hoya Burtoniae at WALMART! I couldn't believe it! And she is gorgeous! I probably looked like the biggest guber walking around carry this plant with an ear to ear smile on my face! I wanted to tell everyone IT'S A BURTONIAE!! I'll be going to Home Depot and Lowes on Monday. I hope to score some good stuff. ❤

I found one at my Home Depot (south Denver) in the glass water bowl called "Golden Girl" Philodendron. It reminds me of a ring of fire and I can't really find anything about it. It was 19.98 and had 2 plants in it... we'll see how it goes. It's amazing how much more of a selection you have there.

Ashley, I found a philodendron tortum a couple weeks ago at my Walmart an hour from Charlotte. It was labeled Trending Tropicals but in a different white pot than usual. It was inside on an endcap in the holiday/garden section. They had other rare plants too!

omg, those cactus are rhipsalis cruciforme... great plant to have... they grow long gorgeous leaves, and in bright light, or even direct sunlight (but it's not recommended) it will turn bright red/purple... it also looks like the giant form, there are 6 different ones including a spiralis, they give nice white flowers and purple fruits...

The plant at 8:04 is an ardisia elliptica. I picked one up recently on a whim without knowing what it was and it died in pon pretty quickly. It requires a lot of water and an acidic substrate. It's also invasive in Florida, so if you live somewhere where it can survive the winter, don't put it outside. I'm not sure why Costa Farms is interested in this plant. It doesn't strike me as easy care, and it grows into a pretty basic shrub IMHO.

I am so impressed with Home Depot's plant arrangement. It's a huge contrast to the Lowe's in my neck of the woods. My Lowe's has got racks of plants that are literally in almost complete darkness, so many of the plants are in terrible condition. The store could really use one employee dedicated to the plant section. Like so many stores, though they don't have enough employees and who knows if there's even one employee that knows anything about plants. I get very sad when I get to their plant department. 🪴 😢
